Shutting down old-gen Destiny opens the door for PC

Bungie's Luis Villegas explains that leaving behind the two old-gen platforms opens the doors to bringing a new one in, as it was too much work for the studio to support four platforms at the same time.

I really hope this game tanks if it ever comes to pc after bungie prioritized 2 dead consoles over pc

SilverDemon2774d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

dead consoles even though ps4 is outpacing ps2 (best selling console ever)

dont be butt hurt m8

edit: I thought you were talking about ps4 and 360 my bad :P (I forgot this game released for those systems)

just_sayin2774d ago

He was talking about ps3/360

ChronoJoe2774d ago

While he was talking about PS3 and 360, I think sales figures of Destiny and other titles demonstrated that they were not dead consoles at the time Bungie supported those platforms. They sold over 3.5 million physical units on those 'dead' systems, many more if we account for digital sales.

Xbox 360/PS3. Omg, some people. Have you even read the title of the article to stay on topic?

Father__Merrin2774d ago

console sales of titles like this dwarf pc sales, just look at steam stats thats all you need to know

kevnb2774d ago

Ya you are right, heavily marketed mediocre games don't usually do that well on pc.

sullynathan2774d ago (Edited 2774d ago )

@kevnb they seem to do, Skyrim sold 10 million copies on pc after all and Bethesda games tend to sell millions there. Battlefield also sells really well on pc. There, mediocre games that sell well on pc.

ONESHOTV22774d ago (Edited 2774d ago )

whatever you devs say i wouldn't waste my money on this unless it was 20 with all the DLC packed in one. even then i would buy it from G2A just to show them how i feel

I feel like building the game for PC, and having to support all of the distinct PC configurations might be more than Bungie can chew while pushing out a large body of content and supporting the console releases. I'd be eager to see them do it, if possible, but I suspect that ultimately everyone would suffer.

The game already has a large audience and many of those that will have really wanted to play it will come from a console background, so it's not even clear how much of their potential market their missing. I'm sure internally they have a projection however, and that projection, the theoretical size of the missing userbase will probably determine whether they decide to go for PC support.

I was reading it's all just false reports from a troll who's done things like this in the past and not Nintendo themselves.
