I get the feeling that we will be playing the new Zelda on this emu perfectly, day one xD

FlyingFoxy2803d ago

I thought that, it will probably run at 60fps too instead of the 30 that the Wii U will give. Though we haven't seen the NX version yet which supposedly will have better graphics.

I'm surprised how quickly this emulator has evolved, it's running well on even lower mid range systems pretty well judging by some YT videos and stated specs.

BrandanT2803d ago

Boosting the frame rate could cause unexpected problems. For example, if a weapon hits once during the 30fps that it takes to hit the enemy, that means it'll hit twice on 60fps.

JunMei2802d ago (Edited 2802d ago )

It doesn't work like that will emulation without very extreme work done with the emulator. An emulator typically can only push what the game was already pushing or really awful slowdowns or speedups may occur.

Really though, Wii U already has great graphics. Using an emulator won't make things /that/ much better. When this thing is working, I'll only be using this to play uncensored versions of censored games. For everything else, I'd much rather use my Wii U. The gamepad IS the system, and I think it's one of the greatest controllers ever conceived. If only the rumble was a little bit stronger.

wonderfulmonkeyman2803d ago

Anyone who would do that, doesn't deserve to play it.

Kokyu2803d ago

Until Nintendo shuts it down.

DillyDilly2803d ago

They never shut down the Dolphin emulator

Vegamyster2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Emulators aren't illegal, just the ROMS.

wonderfulmonkeyman2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

When the emulators are being advertized as a way of playing illegal versions of console games, instead of merely tools for the benefit of teaching aspiring programmers the ins and outs of how systems work, they SHOULD be shut down.

This is blatant piracy support at this point; we all know that the majority using this will be using it to play cracked Wii U games for free. They'll come up with ten thousand excuses for it, from advertisement to education, but we ALL know that the majority will use CEMU for stolen illegal game ROMS.

BassMan1252803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Since when publishers shut down emulator?

ONESHOTV22803d ago

as someone that doesnt own a wiiu i find this to be very good becuase i can go out and buy a copy and rip it to my rig and then play. this will be a win win for everyone consumers and publishers becuase they are going to make money off the copies being sold

wonderfulmonkeyman2803d ago

It's a loss for Nintendo because that's one less console sold.
And it will likely affect NX sales of BotW as well.
The only ones who "win" with this are filthy pirates.

ONESHOTV22803d ago

how can i be a pirate when i'm paying for the product and you do know software makes more money than hardware right so what are they losing. do you think pc gamers will go out of their way to buy a console that has only a few games ? what's the reason do you think i dont own a ps4 or a wii u? it's about the games i'm not going to pay 400 or so dollars on a box that only has a few games when there are thousands on pc

JunMei2803d ago

A lot of money is still made on software sales, though. So.... No. Not pirating. I fully support emulation, but I'm strongly anti-piracy.

wonderfulmonkeyman2802d ago (Edited 2802d ago )

" you do know software makes more money than hardware right"
Gee, let's calculate that, shall we?
Which do you think a company who makes both games AND systems makes more off of?
Someone who is only paying $60 every so often and just tossing them into an emulator on a machine the company didn't make?
Or someone who pays $200 to $400 as an entry price for a machine, + accessory prices on top of $60 every so often?
Furthermore, without systems, there are a LOT of games that just would not have been made, or would not be the same experience, without a console to call home.
Obviously a game company will make more cash in the long run when they have both successful games AND successful systems selling out.
It's not even a contest.

"it's about the games i'm not going to pay 400 or so dollars on a box that only has a few games when there are thousands on pc"

Let me put this in as clear a manner as possible:
WII U EXCLUSIVE GAMES AND PS4 EXCLUSIVE GAMES ARE NOT PC GAMES.
IF YOU ARE EMULATING THEM ON PC INSTEAD OF PROPERLY BUYING THE HOMES OF THESE GAMES, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG.

They would make far more money with software and hardware combined.
Quit excusing wrongdoings.

@Junmei
If someone is playing a Wii U or PS4 game on an emulator instead of on the system they're meant to buy to play them, because they just hated the system, then I hate to break it to you, but they are in the wrong regardless.
Quit trying to find excuses for people who are not supporting the homes of these games.
If people don't want the systems, then they should SKIP THE GAMES UNTIL THEY DO.
We should not cheat these companies out of higher sales because some people are too cheap/broke to support the homes of their games.

ONESHOTV22802d ago (Edited 2802d ago )

wonderfulmonkeyman--you are saying it would be wrong for me to buy a game without the console right lol what type of logic is that look at MS they are release their games on pc i buy the game are they losing anything from that ? no they are not so quit the crap if i can get the game on pc then original hardware wouldn't even cross my mind as long as i'm supporting the devs in the right way (not pirating it for free) then i see no problem with what i'm doing. as i have said i would not go out of my way to buy something i dont need. another thing i dont care how many console are sold becuase i'm not into this petty console war you guys go so crazy over give me the games and i will give my support.

JunMei2803d ago

This is great because now I can play Tokyo Mirage Sessions with the uncensored patch without modding my Wii U. I just have to dump my game and then patch it.

Yi-Long2803d ago

It will also probably be the only chance Western gamers have to play Xenoblade Chronicles X uncensored and with the original Japanese voices and English subtitles...

ONESHOTV22803d ago

more maybe with some AA and AF to sharpen the game a bit

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2803d ago

humans are sad creatures. Good luck player the Gamepad focus games without the actual gamepad.

You will be playing the lesser version

ONESHOTV22803d ago

i'm sure there are cheap gamepads around why buy a new one

Vedo2803d ago

Nintendo stated that this Zelda has no Wii U gamepad focus (probably because of the NX version), the Wii U gamepad shows just the map, so you will be fine playing it with your PC gamepad.

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad503d ago (Edited 503d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast503d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper503d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

-Foxtrot502d ago

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
