Nintendo Actually Asked For Bayonetta's Link Costume To Be More Revealing

Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya has commented on the third game's naive angel mode, debunking claims that it's because of Nintendo and revealing that it actually asked for the Link crossover costume in the second game to be more revealing.

I don't have a problem whatsoever with Nintendo having a variety of adult games on their platform. But I sometimes wonder what Senpai Satori Iwata would think about Nintendo today, may he rest in peace.

Sirk7x588d ago

I think he'd be very proud and happy with how well the Switch has sold. That was his last gift to the world. Man, Iwata's death still makes me sad. The last public messages we got from him, he was endlessly apologizing for the state of the Wii U, and didn't make long enough it to get to see how the Switch would launch. :(

That's how I hope he would feel. He was a good man and will be missed.

Well, we‘ll see soon enough if it’s been toned down or not.

Looking forward to the impending Bayonetta VS Stellar Blade rivalry! Who will do the genre better?

CrimsonWing69589d ago

Bayonetta of course, but Stellar Blade looks better visually.

Honestly from the latest State of Play I'd say Bayonetta has competition gameplay wise too.
Bayo is just the easy pick right now as people have played it.

Sony censoring games, meanwhile Nintendo has gone a complete 180 by asking for more lewdness. Wild times.

Popsicle589d ago

Welcome to the world post 2020 when it seems we shifted into some sort of alternate/parallel universe.

CobraKai589d ago

Right. Sony needs to get woke. They need to realize we need uncensored luscious hooters to gawk at. Like in the 90s. Who gives a crap who it offends.

Yui_Suzumiya589d ago

Exactly why I bought a laptop. Even though the "all ages" eroge on Switch pops good enough, I wanted the entire 18+ experience finally, lol

Rancegamerx588d ago

You do realize that being "woke" (which Sony already very much is) is the problem. “Woke” companies are the ones censoring everything. No sexy woman - only fat lesbians or ugly men haters, no men in video games and if they are they must be dumb, rude, or evil, pronouns this or that and don't you dare say it wrong or you’re an evil hater of people who like to pretend they’re something they’re not, and last but not least endless ignorant very uneducated one sided takes on every political situation. So, let’s hope they don’t go more woke and realize how stupid they have become.

CobraKai588d ago

@Rance
I was being ironic. I feel there will be an eventual turnaround where being woke will come full circle to realizing that people are tired of politically correct bullshit. I like my women strong sure, but tiddies.

Bayonetta 3's Director Was Worried Hideki Kamiya Would Interfere

PlatinumGames has released the first of a four-part documentary examining the development of Bayonetta 3. It's jam-packed with fascinating anecdotes from the team, including a rather surprising revelation from the game's director, Yusuke Miyata.

Miyata confirmed that Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Bayonetta franchise, approached him directly to offer up the role of the sequel's director. However, instead of jumping at the opportunity, Miyata was initially hesitant and was worried that Kamiya himself would interfere in the project too much.
