Rely on Horror, CJ Melendez writes: "Big Moon Studios took their SciFi horror game Syndrome to Gamescom, and with it brought about an all-new trailer that sets up the premise. You awake in a space station with no knowledge why it’s now infested with monsters and dead people. Not exactly original, but let’s not judge it too harshly based on this alone!"
"Coming soon to Nintendo Switch. You wake up from cryosleep spaceship. There are no people around, but suddenly you hear a voice on the communicator that makes you aware of the situation. Something from the abyss of space is kidnapping and killing the people on the ship. And it doesn't stop hunting.
Face dangers and your own nightmares as you explore doomed starship in Syndrome - a sci-fi survival horror."
Syndrome asks the question: what if Alien: Isolation didn't contain the Xenomorph and was incompetent in every facet of its design?
The review subtitle is quite scathing and it doesn't get any lighter inside!
Good review, awful game
Ever wanted to play a really bad first-person rip-off of Dead Space? No? Then you'll probably want to give Syndrome a pass.
Looks interesting. Worth a closer look ...
It'd be really nice to see a old-school survival horror game for once... I am not joking here - I am absolutely unable to pick these first-person horror games apart any more.
The only two that are caught my eye are AGONY and SCORN, but they are interesting because of aesthetics, not core mechanics or point of view.
I have nothing against First-Person perspective, but it should not be a dominating power on the market of survival horror games.
First person dead space.
