Downloading it as we speak. But after reading your preview, my hype went down a little bit.

I really wish the game would have gone the Bioshock route with full fledged story than the concept it has right now. It looks amazing but the whole survival elements feels like it doesn't fit.

And i doubt things will change much after the full game releases. That is if it ever goes out from Early Access which games nowadays tend not to do.

Still waiting for The Long Dark, The Forest, Ark Survival Evolved to get out of Early Access but i doubt that will ever happen.

@DarkOcelot don't be such a Debbie downer. The game will be in early access for about 6 months depending on feedback and it has a story mode ready for final version. At this point and time treat early access as it is, meaning expect to play game with omitted story, cut scenes and don't go in expecting final version.

Well, The Long Dark has a story too btw, and the story was supposed to be released in late 2015 and no progress happened till now. Am just saying, don't get your hopes up. 6 month could easily turn into years with developers nowadays.

I see your point @DarkOcelot, I am tempted to download and play. If you don't mind hit me up and let me know your overall opinion.

Yeah the preview kinda pointed out what I've been assuming for a long time...the core gameplay loop isn't the Bioshock type feel that the recent talk & previews have been alluding to. I understand the inclination from the devs to lean into the Bioshock comparisons, because that's a pretty flattering one, but that prologue is a bit misleading.

The actual gameplay does look vastly improved from what they showed off on IGN First around a year ago, but it's still seems to be more apt to compare it to a 3d Don't Starve in terms of actual gameplay, and narratively like Bioshock...it's just untelling at this point how important the narrative will even be. It seems to me like this game will just be bookended by sections like what we saw at MS' E3, then everything else will be pretty different from that. Not sure if the game will benefit from the early access program or not, but I don't expect it to make any drastic changes from now to full release.

There have been gameplay videos for a year or so already. Why people expect this to be a Bioshock like game is beyond me!

Kinda reminds me of miasmata also with how the navigation works. Not to miasmata's extent but definitely in the same vein
