Street Fighter V’s R. Mika’s Default Costume Was Judged too Sexy by the ESPN at EVO

Yesterday EVO 2016 saw the crowning of Infiltration as the Street Fighter V champion, and Fuudo, who ended up in second place, had a bit of an issue… with R. Mika’s default costume.

Well duh, what sport on ESPN ever has something so revealing? It still baffles me that the game got away with a T rating, if it was a show or movie it would've been R/MA for prolonged partial nudity. And no I'm not exaggerating.

Yeah, it's not like beefcakes in spandex onesies aren't on TV wrestling and swimming on espn, and it's definitely not like both men and women are running around in basically just their underwear on TV all the time. Female (fake) wrestlers that are her inspiration definitely don't wear outfits that sexy or flaunt their sexuality constantly and definitely don't make it onto TV.

As far as I'm concerned they could all be but ass naked and the game should still get a T rating for violence, the nudity (partial or otherwise) shouldn't even be a factor.

I was simply trying to show that what you believe to be "partial nudity" and deem inappropriate and those that stone women for showing their faces are the same. Same with ESPN and the far right in America.

All these believes and "standards" are purely effected off of people taking religion to the extremes that they can't even remember where these craziness comes from. Where was the outcry with her costume in Street Fighter Alpha or any other such "revealing" fighter in any other fighting game? Why nowadays the outcry? It's like these SJWs have seen an opportunity to influence something they think they can, and unfortunately some developers like Capcom and organisations like ESPN are falling for it and pandering to the wishes of these creatures.

It's like a fad, one SJW gets their "influence" in an industry realised by such a small minded dev and then the rest come flocking like geese, picking out very tiny "flaws" eg this R Mika butt, the Tracer butt etc trying to influence the fabric of gaming and creative freedom. As long as developers resist them the fad will eventually die and the SJWs will move on.

Yeah, Disney prefers to objectify and exploit everyone equally without being obvious about it.

Seriously though, Disney does have productions which aren't all whitewashed. They understand the nature of sex appeal just as well as any other company out there, and will use it in any way possible, in any place possible. I mean, just look at all the beautiful people they put as the leads in their kids/teens programming. They don't make them all sexy like Mika here, but they aren't exactly the pillars of showing common people as something special.

Although oddly enough back in the day Disney movies were notorious for having some pretty adult themed easter eggs. Anybody remember the little mermaid boxart? Its ok for us guys to wear only just shorts in a UFC cage and beat ourselves to a pulp (and some fighters do it and look good doing it). There are some sexy looking female fighters in the UFC both in and out of the cage....

Where I live is pretty conservative yet when my family goes to any place where there is water a good portion of the young women (especially under the age of 18) are dressed in bikinis that are more revealing and "sexy" than the said costume in SF5..... that said...

I find it hilarious that there was no outspoken problem with violence in the game but that beauty and sex were the focus of what was bad over the violence in the game.... In my opinion, if we as a people need to be focusing on something it should be the level of violence and how it is portrayed and its impact on society.... rather than worrying about if a women or man should be allowed to look good and attractive when doing whatever it is they are doing.....

Again, just my opinion, its whoever at ESPN that is easily getting turned on by some skin on a "fictional character" that was showing and how shallow ESPN was by judging others and assuming that all people and gamers are perverts when we see someone showing lots of skin.... Art and Beauty is a wonderful thing we humans are capable of appreciating and it is not evil to admire the beauty of a women or a man while they are doing whatever it is they are doing (in this case fighting but applies to other cases outside of the game)........
