Yes ! Thank you so much ! Single player is here to stay strong ! Woohoo !

Edit : Also Corey said that Kratos and his son will grow stronger throughout the game. Now that i like to hear.

Ceaser98573613281d ago

His Son is a demi-god or a norse god for sure.. either of the two.

nX3281d ago

Well the lightning arrows suggest that he's the grand child of Zeus. I just hope they explain what happened after GoW3.

naruga3280d ago

nice ..more work on SP then ...enough with this idiocy "is better to play together" ....

Jeff2573280d ago (Edited 3280d ago )

What if Kratos becomes Odin and his son is Thor? They have said this is set in the migration time and is pre-Norse. They have said that Kratos is a god and tries to teach his son how to become one. Some other clues about his son is the lighting in the arrow and obviously Thor uses lightning. Another is Thor has been depicted as having a red beard in classic mythology and Kratos' son does have red hair in the game. Anyway I am probably way off but it is an interesting thought I had about the game and some of the comments they have made about it.

On topic I am glad they won't be doing MP and will focus entirely on the story and the single player gameplay.

Bansai3280d ago

The kid is probably Thor, since he also was a ginger

Ceaser98573613280d ago

Kratos is Kratos and they cannot make him Odin... also we saw the spartan rage meter.. So he is himself.. This is the same Kratos from GOW 123 and the storyline continues but in Norse mytho now.. Also i read an article anyways go through it if you guys have time.. Its explained brilliantly .. but just assumption..

By the gods!!!! This time Microsoft has turned into freaking rabid monster! Do you guys know what "SCORPIO" means?!
According to Greek myth: "So Apollo and Gaia talked and decided that it was time for Orion to go, so Gaia created a giant scorpion to hunt the hunter. This is where Scorpio mythology essentially begins and ends. Orion pretty much knew he was screwed, so he ran, and Scorpio chased him.
Depending on which myth you want to go with, either Scorpio killed Orion, or Artemis accidentally shot Orion in the head thinking she was shooting Scorpio. Either way, Orion died."
Microsoft is dead serious this time! The name "Project Scorpio" is a serious threat! They are going for the kill!

I am genuinely disappointed that there isn't any multi-player. It was awesome and was the best part of Ascension.
Granted, it did affect negatively the single-player campaign in Ascension.

Not every game needs multiplayer so I'm glad to hear it won't be in this. I love when I play a good single player game, and don't have to bother with other people lol.

@welly

You are correct not every multiplayer game needs a single player mode.

Playable_Gamez3280d ago

I don't get it? Then don't play the multiplayer lmao. I don't understand the logic hahha.

freshslicepizza3280d ago

development can be more concentrated in one area this way. the thing that bothers me is you have many people who are very happy about games that have no online but you dont get the same optimism when they announce games that are only online. i think this stems from old school gamers who are more like collectors that just enjoy the whole ownership process and think online only games hold no value, which simply isn't true.

back to god of war, i think this is a bold step that is a good move since not all games need multiplayer.

WellyUK3280d ago (Edited 3280d ago )

Same as how not every game needs a Single player, yet people can't deal with that fact.

Playable_Gamez3280d ago

I don't understand why you are happy that the game doesn't have multiplayer. Not that it needs one. Actually it would be pretty silly for it to have one. But why are you happy it doesn't?

Adexus3280d ago

Because no assets, development resources and time will be taken from the single player portion of the game just to develop some tacked on multiplayer that barely anyone will even play.

Quality, not quantity.

Aceman183280d ago

Because there's a time for a game to have multiplayer, and a time for it to not. This is one of those cases where it doesn't need multiplayer. Just like every damn game doesn't need to be open world to be awesome to play.

raWfodog3280d ago

It means that they focused on making the best single-player game that they could without having to devote resources to tacking on a multiplayer layer. Not every game needs multiplayer. And the same goes for multiplayer games, not every one needs to have a single-player campaign added on.

Playable_Gamez3280d ago

So you are saying TLOU and Uncharted could have been better games without a multilayer game.

Although I like Ascension's mp, thia new Gow is ok not to have it. I'm really excited for this game!

USMC_POLICE3280d ago

I think both GOW and AC don't need multiplayer, Coop should be in AC but the pvp was stupid in my opinion.

3280d ago
DragonDDark3280d ago

Meh... Never cared for it on ascension

PizzaSteve3280d ago

Me too. The campaign was good not best GOW but still good. I remember playing only 1 match online then never played it again.

WILD HEARTS S Q&A - 'Switch 2 Is Closer to the Series S Than PS4'

This new tech, in 2025, is more comparable to 2020 tech than 2013 tech.

*tip toes over that bar*

Also, why are all the comparisons to PS4 and not Xbox One?

Neonridr1d 20h ago

PS4 is more powerful than the XB1, S2 is more powerful than both, so why not use the higher of the two?

Christopher1d 20h ago (Edited 1d 20h ago )

Probably because people who owned an XBO and not a PS4 don't really know what it means. The assumption is that everyone is as knowledgeable as journalists or gaming news junkies. Gaming is mainstream, that means that mass majority of people don't know these specifics, only online talking points.

And the PS4 and XBO are the closest in power systems we've ever had, so this 'more powerful' is so small, it really isn't the big talking point people think it is.

OtterX23h ago(Edited 23h ago)

Which is great for a handheld/hybrid! Some people still stick to Digital Foundry's PS4 comparison comment as gospel, back when they were just watching trailers and hadn't even had their hands on it yet.

With that said, this interview doesn't go into very much depth on this. I'd like to see more analysis, but so far I'm really impressed with the performance since I got mine on Friday. Truth be told, having a PS4 Pro level handheld is enough for me. Anything beyond is icing. I'm not looking to replace my PS5 or PC.

MDTunkown18h ago

For how thin switch 2 is it’s impressive especially when it’s stronger than steam deck and cost less

Christopher15h ago

Steam Deck is cheaper at $399. Switch 2 also uses cheaper materials. See joycon drift still being an issue. You'll also save a ton more money on software alone with the Steam Deck.

Honestly, if the Steam Deck was released today, it likely would at least match the Switch 2 in areas where it outperforms the Steam Deck but still have more advantages. Main thing holding back the Deck is the cores and resolution, because it still has the better CPU and GPU otherwise.

OMNlPOTENT16h ago

And the ps5 was comparable to a PC that could be built over 5 years before it came out lol, how do you think consoles stay affordable?

Christopher15h ago

You're actually proving my point even more.

badz14948m ago

@omnipotent

PS5 comparable to a PC built OVER 5 years before it came out? let's see...

the best mainstream PC combo back in 2015/2016 would be the i7 6700K ($350) + GTX 1080 ($600). Sorry, but that setup is never going to outperform the base PS5 in games, especially modern ones.

you done lying yet or still want to continue lying so your precious Switch 2 doesn't get hurt by facts anymore?

CosmicTurtle7h ago

It’s a tech article speaking about specs people who care about this will know. I did not own an XB1 but know it’s at a similar tech level as PS4. PS4 has a far greater sales footprint, it makes sense to use it.

I notice it always ps4 or ps4 pro but never xbox one x which is more powetful then the ps4 pro.

MDTunkown18h ago

And it’s also in someways stronger than series S. Xbox one x is a special console that was never fully utilised and has 1,5 times more teraflops than series s.

badz14948m ago(Edited 47m ago)

but the Bulldozer CPU is much weaker and inefficient compared to Zen2 used in the Series S

repsahj9h ago

This is an ugly port, they should improve it more instead of releasing it early.
