Rely on Horror, CJ Melendez writes: "In our upcoming interview with Richard Rouse III, Director/Designer/Writer of Paranoid Production’s The Church in the Darkness, we learned a little bit more about the state of The Suffering franchise.
When asked if he thinks we’ll ever see the series again and who holds the rights to the series, Rouse told us that he suspects Warner Brothers does due to their acquisition of Midway’s assets in 2009."
GOG has announced that Warner Bros is set to remove The Suffering and its sequel from the digital storefront next month making the game inaccessible to players.
Already own the originals (the first on PS2 and the second on xbox), as well as the GoG versions. It's dumb they're getting delisted, but it's not like they're hard to emulate either.
I've got the first on for my PS2, never got around to playing the second.
The spooky season is at last upon us, making the next couple of weeks the perfect time for a healthy helping of horror. There's no shortage of options out there, so here are a few suggestions to get the ball rolling!
I remember the suffering and it was descent game. I always wanted to play Crimson but never got to it.
But honestly, I’ve never played a game that really scared me, like some movies from the past have.
Full of frights, spooks, and claustrophobic journeys, the Original Xbox has what will quench the thirst of every horror fan.
Such a shame that they never ported Fatal Frame II: Director's Cut to anything else. The added ending is by far my favourite.
Fatal Frame 1&2. Its a horrible shame those two original xbox games never got backwards compatible for series consoles. Horrible
Ohhh a new suffering game would be swet
At this point I'd love a rerelease on Steam or GoG, and them a sequel.
The first was a gem, while the sequel was great and better in terms of game play and graphics, it wasn't as captivating, still very few games pulled it off as well as The Suffering.
Would welcome a sequel.
Really amazing game
I missed out so would love ps2 remasters on ps4.
I would love a sequel or a reboot, loved that game.
The 1st games atmosphere was great, it felt like a mix between a darker version of evil dead and the House on haunted hill.
Was also cool to have the option to switch between perspectives.
