"Things aren't going so well for you at the beginning of Firewatch. A recent divorcee who has signed on as a fire scout and retreated to the backwoods of Wyoming for some peace (after one too many grief-driven DUIs), you realize things aren't as calm here as you'd expect. The realization comes slowly, as you discover strange antlers in otherwise ordinary supply caches, have run-ins with shadowy hikers that vanish without a word, and hear about scouts before you who couldn't handle the pressure, but not what happened to them. By the time your find your firetower home vandalized and ransacked, it's clear that something malicious is out there, and you have no idea where to start looking for it. But it knows exactly where to find you."
Sometimes you want to explore wild environments while exploring mysteries, escaping flesh eating 8monsters, or even be the monster yourself.
If you never played firewatch, do yourself a favor and play it. It's not very long but it's a fantastic gaming experience.

Developer Raicuparta recently moved their mod, named Two Forks VR, to a 1.0 release. This update doesn’t actually add much to the mod over the past release, but the developer says the mod is now in “maintenance mode”, essentially meaning it will just be updated to keep working with any possible future updates to Firewatch itself.
Raicuparta previously made an excellent VR mod for Outer Wilds, and now Two Forks VR features a lot of advanced VR mod features like snap turning and more. If you want to try the mod for yourself you’ll need to subscribe to Raicuparta’s Patreon campaign."
Really cool. Something the main developers should have considered when VR was really getting hot. Maybe next round with new headsets coming.
The more interesting thing is that Modders are, in a way, proving what Sony wants to do with some VR games being hybrids besides the ground up developed games. Make the necessary tweaks and modifications and boom. VR game.
Games like RE7, Borderlands, Skyrim, Doom, Dirt Rally, etc have made the case. Some very close like Hitman 3. It just needed more tweaking. Just need more of the best and at a higher quality. Developers win. Gamers win either way in or out of VR.
Sweet Jesus, this game sounds terrifying. Staying FAR away from this one. Let me know how it goes when it comes out. *runs away*
One of my most anticipated titles in 2016. I love games that dont push you into the story the second you start playing, but ease you into it hours as you play and explore. This is why Indie games are so important to the current gen landscape. They take risks that big-name AAA developers won't, with games like this.
