Need For Speed PS4 vs Xbox One Initial Face-off: PS4 Leads The Way With Better IQ & Performance

It’s been two years since we received a new Need for Speed game. Need for Speed Rivals launched on the PS4 and Xbox One back in 2013 and was one of the few titles that achieved a full native 1080p rendering resolution along with a fairly stable 30 frames per second performance.

It is pretty logical that PS4 will look better in any game due to better GPU,..Was known that since they were anounced

It would be shocking even if games get similar performance /IQ,.. It would mean something went really wrong

not necessarily, you have to not only look at resolution and fps but filtering, due to running at a higher resolution sometimes, some ps4 games' texture filtering isn't as good as the same title on the xbox one.

Not saying all of the time by any means, but its important to look at each game individually and not make a blanket statement.

PS4's hardware (especially GPU) is more powerful, and therefore for consoles, has the better mulitplatform games. This will continue throughout this entire generation.

We've had 2 years of this, the proverbial honeymoon is over, and There's really nothing to debate.

First of all, this game not only has higher res and a better framerate but its also got the same level of AF on PS4.

And would you think a PS4 game looked better than the X1 version if it had better AF but was lower res and had a worst framerate?

And if you are so concerned about AF, then I guess Halo 5 is an issue, as its got no AF at all, just trilinear filtering.

And Forza 5 and 6 don't exactly have much AF going on either. But instead just have the higher res and framerate.

Yeah it's been almost two years now with these consoles i think we all know with one has the better performance.

I'm already done with 2015.
Nov has cool games coming out but 2016 is what i am focus on now.

VR is the next big thing and if you can play all games on that headset like the guy from sony was hinting at then it's really going to do numbers.

I guess forza 6 wins again but when GT sport comes out with VR support it's a wrap.

What happen need for speed?

You use to be so good.

Burnout was always my favourite racer. Perhaps that's because I felt rewarded for being terrible (crashing)!

MRMagoo1233513d ago

Burnout was your favorite because it was a fun game and a racing game, that doesn't happen often. Even I loved burnout and I d intend like racers at all and can't think if any genre more boring to me.

UserNameIsNotTaken3513d ago

Who will buy this anyway? The game is missing tons of features. :/

Whirlwind_Fanfare_083513d ago

I sure won't, and you're right! it's missing tons of features!

And they're spent every game after that trying to chase that high and never meeting it

Makes you think if gamers are looking to relive nostalgia or each dev that has attempted to mimic the glory days are just incompetent?

DarXyde172d ago

Truth. Loved Midnight Club.

I wouldn't be mad at another proper Underground or Most Wanted (PS2/X360) entry though.
