Such an amazing month. I already own half of that list but I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Ether One, Hohokum and Race the Sun.

5 games on the PS4 damnit lol

Ron_Danger3289d ago (Edited 3289d ago )

Hohokum is one of my favorite indie games this gen. Same dev as Frobisher Says on Vita and (IMHO) best soundtrack (non-classical) of any game this gen. If you like the artists Tycho or Com Truis you'll love it cause the entire soundtrack is done by their record label Ghostly International.

It's one of those games where you are thrown in with zero explaination and you just mess around till you figure it out. Every "level" is different and the music gets remixed live while you play depending on your actions.

@josuey

Ummm... Rayman Legends was released on ps+ last year. It's currently sitting in my PS+ folder on my Vita.

rdgneoz33289d ago

I may be in your folder for your vita, but it wasn't crossbuy when it released.

Overall, 5 games is not a bad month. They'll keep me busy till Witcher 3 comes out.

Genuine-User3289d ago

Thanks for all the info. I will most definitely give it a shot, and who knows, I might like it as much as you do.

fdkenzo3289d ago

Awfull month, Sony you disapoint me .....if i was'nt obligated to have ps+ for multiplayer, now probably i canceled my subscrition..... F.U Sony !!!

ExplodingJuice3289d ago

Then don't download the games. Not hard to do. Complaining about free games....

Kal-V33289d ago

How about you.. oh i dont know..ACTUALLY TRY the games. You are getting them anyway. Why not save yourself the blind anger of "they are indie so i automatically hate them" and play them, THEN not like them so at least you have an argument.

Genuine-User3289d ago

What utter nonsense.

Metascore:

Guacamelee - 87
Unfinished Swan - 83
Ether One - 82
Race the Sun - 76
Hohokum - 75

Or maybe you just have an awful taste in games?
Granted I've only played one of those games on that list "The Unfinished Swan" but I can tell you it is fantastic, you are missing out if you don't give at least that game a shot.

insomnium23289d ago

Ummm... FU Sony? For this? Only having all the luxuries in the world at your disposal will make you this spoiled. Gotta say I feel sorry for you.

Kurt Russell3289d ago

I feel the same, not for me. I'm sure I had Guacamelee free on my PS3 already?

Love it

GameSpawn3289d ago

I only got burned for May PS+ by Unfinished Swan because I bought that one close to when it came out. You win some and you loose some...whatever.

Ether One is the most interesting out of the list to me (I love puzzle games). This is not a terrible lineup and most of the games are crossbuy meaning there's more than 2 games if you only own a PS3 [3 Games], PS4 [5 Games], or PSVita [4 Games].

I do recommend Unfinished Swan to the uninitiated though. For the most part it is a laid back relaxing game with a nice little story - a good change of pace to most of the faster paced games people usually play.

rainslacker3289d ago

I didn't even know murasaki baby had released. I remember the announcement, remember being excited about it, then forgot about it. No AAA games this month, but definitely a stellar line up of indie games. Some great examples of what indies can do.

miyamoto3289d ago (Edited 3289d ago )

Been waiting for Hohokum! At last its finally here.
Last months Never Alone was such a very nice two player game. We love it. And our understanding and love for indie games grows even bigger.

Such a great line up this month of May!

Cool I always wanted to play guacamelee (but didn't really want to pay for it!)

slappy5083289d ago

I'm sure it was! It did get a super high rating on metacritic. I have a tendency not to purchase these games because the likelyhood of it coming to ps plus is almost certain. My vita will be happy with all the other games

Genuine-User3289d ago

If only I had the patience to wait a few months lol.

hades073289d ago

Youll certainly enjoy it, especially if you are a fan of Metroidvania with some Super Meat Boy style puzzle platform timing sections added.

Volkama3289d ago

I received an email invited my to take a survey on Playstation Plus yesterday. Figured "yeah, may as well let them know what I want".

First question: "Before we begin, please tell us what device you are completing this service from".

Ok, 'other smart phone'. Next.

That was it, survey complete. There were no further questions. It's great to feel like my opinion is important. I hope they take my feedback on board! :)

rainslacker3289d ago

Maybe they're looking to expand PS+ to more devices, and just wanted to see what else their users have?

Sony might have killed the PlayStation Vita, but these games showed off its peak potential

Kevin Webb: "While one of Sony's main goals with the Vita was to produce experiences that felt like playing on a home console, the Vita produced a number of unique games that were later brought over to more powerful hardware. And as the Vita got older, independent developers began to take advantage of the console's strong hardware and dedicated player base. For example, PC games like "Stardew Valley" or "Minecraft" that had earned an indie following could be moved to the Vita at low cost, letting players take their favorite games on the go.

The PlayStation Vita may not have been a smash hit, but there were plenty of gems to be found on the handheld if you spent enough time looking."

Frobisher Says was one of the best games on the Vita. There was just nothing like it. It's such a shame that Sony didn't see fit to invest in the Vita long term.

REDGUM1876d ago

Agreed. Admittedly I brought the console only to travel with (a 41yo gamer here) finished killzone liberation and just started Uncharted odesey and Resistance games. I really only got it to play the games that just never came to ps3/4and surf the net. Its a handy console and it's a shame if has come to an end especially with no replacement in sight just yet!

ArchangelMike1876d ago

Yeah, I loved the Killzone Liberation. Although I have to say that since Sony have dedicated their focus only on the PS4 it has gone from strength to strength. I hope they keep supporting VR though - that might be a game changer for them next gen if they do.

monkey6021876d ago

Some excellent choices there. I spent so many hours on Soul Sacrifice and Persona 4

As much as I love the Uncharted series I couldn't come to terms with Golden Abyss. It felt like a few steps back in the series

King_Noctis1875d ago

Danganronpa, Stien Gate, and especially Persona 4 are some of the best titles that available on the Vita.

I will miss this console.

Chevalier1875d ago

So many great Visual Novels on the Vita

VariantAEC1873d ago

No Freedom Wars or Killzone Mercenary?
Both deserve remakes. Mercenary is cannon and Freedom Wars is just one of those ultra rare JRPG games I found fun and think could appeal to a wider audience.
