Really omg he states 30 secs. To resume can be a killer of a wait. Smh. Anything under a minute to resume my game is fine.

mushroomwig3318d ago (Edited 3318d ago )

Very slow? Compared to what? Actually booting up the game every time? I'll take the suspend feature over that any day.

youtube will be the main source to provide real context of how much faster it is from a hard boot.

Dudebro903318d ago

30 seconds is about the time it takes to load up the game proper. Pointless

SamPao3318d ago

when your console is off?
sure

OB1Biker3318d ago (Edited 3318d ago )

Lol even if true the point is to resume the games where you left it. Not to rush and star playing in seconds
Gamingbolt looking for clicks and trolling as usual anyway

UKmilitia3318d ago (Edited 3318d ago )

lol really.
turn it on aload to dash, then load game, then load the actual save file/continue game.

its over a minute easy and then it could be from a checkpoint and not the actual point your at.

Christopher3318d ago

What? It takes at least 15s just to load the console from being completely off.

Furthermore, this still allows you to drop a game at any point, no need to save or anything.

Article is pointless without context. For a comparison, they should time how long it takes to get from a normal boot back into the game. I'm betting it's longer than 30 seconds.

NecotheSergal3318d ago

But that would mean extra work, why do that when you could just be biased and instead calling the feature 'Variable' or Subjective per game, you make it sound negative by calling it 'Inconsistent' as if it's just crap and doesn't work properly.

Aloy-Boyfriend3318d ago (Edited 3318d ago )

Every game is different, so of course the timing will be inconsistent. Not really a fair comparisson. It's like comparing GTA V load times with The Last of Us. Both of which have only one load time and it when you begin to play.

Why do the internet somehow has to nitpick all the time? Damn! BB takes like 10 secs. That's the only game I've tested so far.

Tip: If you disable the facial recognition log-in, it will be faster.

Aloy-Boyfriend3318d ago (Edited 3318d ago )

Also, It depends of what you left off in the game. It could take more processing than before.

With the feature already release, devs will fully optimize the games to load their games faster with this. Because those Games were already released before the patch, it may be the reason why they have inconsistent load times. This can only get better!

fr0sty3318d ago

Oh my god, it takes an entire 30 seconds? You mean I have to wait 30 seconds instead of waiting for the PS4 to boot, logging in, selecting my game from the menu, waiting for the splash screens showing the logos to play through, waiting for the game to load, selecting my save file, waiting for the save and subsequently the level data to load, and then jumping right back into my game?

That's WAY too long! /s

d0x3603317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

The point is probably on xbox its instant. Whether you shut the system off or load another app watch a movie whatever etc...hit the game button and in a second you are in the action.

It's because ms is using a VM and Sony isn't. They are just saving a state to the HDD which needs to be loaded. Its a half ass way to do resume but at least it's there.

callahan093317d ago

Only game I've been playing since the update is Bloodborne, and it's 10 seconds. I press power on my TV and on my controller at the same time, and by the time my TV is ready, the game is already fully booted up and ready to go, so my TV actually takes longer to turn on than the game haha.

It took me 10-12 seconds to load up both Dragon Age Inquisition and Sleeping Dogs.

Aceman183318d ago

it took 10-15 seconds to load up DriveClub when i got home from work. so if some games take 30 seconds to load game(s) then i'm not going to lose sleep over it lol.

for those agreeing with this nonsense you really are sad smh lol.

SoapShoes3318d ago

Took about ten seconds for DriveClub. Bloodborne is super fast too!

DragoonsScaleLegends3318d ago

Why would it take 10 seconds the first time then 30 seconds the second time?

DrumBeat3318d ago

Bloodborne just booted up instantly for me.

I literally saw the title screen for one second, then was right in the dreamworld.
