Top 5 Games Due In 2015 You Need To Be Pumped For

Be-Mpowered: 'While 2014 wasn’t a jaw-dropping year for games, it was still pretty damned good. As well as cementing the PS4 and Xbox One as machines that aren’t just going to sit under a television and do absolutely nothing, it housed the likes of South Park, Mario Kart 8 and P.T. That ain’t no bad thing.'

2015 looks like it's going to be a great year for gaming. Very excited

ATi_Elite3832d ago (Edited 3832d ago )

My top 5

Zelda
The Witcher 3
Stalker 2 / New Valve Game
Kingdom come deliverance
StarCitizen

These are the creme of the crop on my list with StarCitizen being the absolute big gun as that is an absolute game changer.

So ecstatic to see Stalker 2 back in development. It's been way too long, feels like a Half Life since Stalker SOC. Pun intended.

No_Limit3833d ago

I am pumped for Zelda, Xenosaga x, Halo 5, Quantum Break, Bllodborne, Uncharted 4, Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, and hopefully either Fallout 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2 to come out in 2015.

WeAreLegion3833d ago

Good list. Mine looks similar:

Bloodborne, The Order, Uncharted 4, Godzilla, No Man's Sky, The Tomorrow Children, Until Dawn, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Dying Light, Batman: Arkham Knight, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Party 10, Splatoon, Starfox, Quantum Break, Cuphead, Evolve, The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefront, American Truck Simulator (Don't judge me!), H1Z1, and Killing Floor 2.

DragoonsScaleLegends3833d ago

Lol your excited for the godzilla game. The gameplay they showed on PS3 was so bad. Never mind truck simulator is even more funny. Good list except for maybe those two.

WeAreLegion3833d ago

Yeah. I know. I played the PS3 demo. I actually really like the gameplay. It's the type of game we Godzilla fans have been wanting for a long time. And don't knock the Truck Simulator games, man. Some of the highest rated and best controlling vehicle games out there. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is excellent! Especially with a steering wheel.

DougLord3833d ago (Edited 3833d ago )

Fable, Crackdown, Halo 5, Phantom Dust,Gears Collection, maybe Gears Next, Quantum Break, Ori, Scalebound, Chalice.

Not really feeling Cuphead, Tomb Raider, Superhot, Scream Ride, State of Decay, Below etc....

Can't wait for MSFT to show us more.

Ikki_Phoenix3833d ago (Edited 3833d ago )

xbox fanboy well...

witcher 3-zelda --->fable
battlefront 3-horizon --->halo 5 "multiplayer"
uncharted 4 ---->quantum break-tomb failer combined
new god of war --->scalebound
the order--->gear milked collection

wont bother the rest you mentioned...they will all flop in sales

indies
no man sky-toworrow childrens--->ori

you are a full blinded xbox fanboy hating on everything other consoles have to offer so i had to do this..see all consoles can counter everysingle title you mention just now

Paytaa3833d ago

You seem very insecure. Guess someone excited for Xbox's future is automatically an Xbox troll and or "fanboy". The only fanboy here is you.

Ikki_Phoenix3833d ago

Paytaa
i own ps4,wii u and pc so nope i am not a fanboy

but judging by your avatar you are kkthxbb

andibandit3833d ago

Ikki

From your post its obvious you're a fanboy, despite what consoles/pc you may own.

not gonna say douglord isnt a fanboy judging from the 1 bubble.

kkkthxhugsbye

DragoonsScaleLegends3833d ago

Those are some nice games coming to Xbox. Theres lots of nice games coming out on Wii U and PS4 next year too. People with all three are going to go broke lol.

medman3832d ago (Edited 3832d ago )

@douglord
I own a ps4, ps3, and 360, with a wii u soon coming and probably the xbone when they give us the slim version....but I had to comment on your not feeling Cuphead and Below. Below looks phenomenal to me, it's one of the timed exclusives that look great for the xbone, and Cuphead looks fun as well. I would want either of those games more than any of the games you choose above, except for Ori and the Blind Forest and Quantum Break, I would want those as much as Below and Cuphead. My list of games I will buy for ps4 in 2015 is getting pretty long...at the moment it stands at 17, with two free to plays added to bring that list to 19. And those are just the exclusives/console exclusives, and not counting 3rd party titles. 2015 is looking pretty stellar.

theFAYEsorceress3833d ago

i'm really hoping evolve is good. i love co-op games~

The 10th Rider3833d ago

Top 5 for 2015 would be so hard. The first four would easily be Uncharted 4, Halo 4, Zelda Wii U, and Metal Gear Solid V (in no particular order.)

Other than that it's so hard to choose, there's the Witcher, Batman, Xenoblade, Bloodbourne, Star Fox, the Order, Quantam Break, and so much more.

Valve only wants to make HalfLife if they push medium forward but what could it push forward next?

If Half-Life 3 ever happens, what big innovation would justify it in Gabe Newell's eyes?

-Foxtrot55d ago

Innovation doesn’t always have to be a VR game, look at one of the rumours for HL3 that someone was saying earlier last week

"Procedural generation (ie. L4D Director) and advanced AI will be pushed by HLX. "

"“The 'procedural generation' in HLX does not relate to terrain or roguelike-ish mechanics but something like the Left4Dead director made "significantly more powerful". Doors, physics props, enemies, enemy types items, NPCs of any kind will be influenced by said director"

That to me is pretty significant if it's done well, that along with better enemy AI, physics and the like are what games should be evolving more but they always choose graphics mostly. The fact that it keeps circling back to only VR is the way forward when it comes to Valve is silly in my opinion.

VR can be a choice but it shouldn't be "VR only because VR is the only innovation we have left"

Levii_9255d ago

No, and they already did that.

gold_drake54d ago

ew no

there are other ways im sure

Vits55d ago

Just go back to what made Half-Life 2 special: the physics.

At the time, it was groundbreaking and arguably influenced a wave of other games that started to experiment with more interactive and dynamic environments. For a while, physics-based gameplay became a trend. But if you've played any first-person shooters in the last decade, you've probably noticed that most developers have either abandoned those ideas entirely or significantly toned them down. The focus shifted away from immersive world interaction toward faster pacing, scripted set pieces, and visual spectacle.

And while you're at it, ship it with a robust modding tool. That’s another thing most developers have completely given up on. It could offer a much-needed alternative to the current AAA landscape, which feels increasingly trapped in a cycle of cinematic universes and safe, homogenized content. In a world of "Marvelized" blockbusters, a game that draws inspiration from the experimental spirit of the late 1990 and mid-2000s wouldn’t just be nostalgic,it would be genuinely fresh. Ironically, looking back might be the most forward-thinking move a studio could make right now.

Chocoburger55d ago

Here's something innovative, finish the God damn story. Wow, a concept! Locking a series behind forced innovation is stupid, and stupidity is not innovation.

ZycoFox55d ago

They can have the game be slightly less linear but not too open. HL2 had parts like that, then Episode 2 did it a bit more.

That and expand upon the physics & AI system and further increase the graphics over Alyx and that's pretty much all they gotta do. I hope they release a separate multiplayer part after if not immediately as well, like they did shortly after HL2 released.

Lamusiqa54d ago

1. Dynamic AI for NPC - Supporting character AI that responds to your voice in real-time. Imagine getting pinned down and then just say "Alyx, throw a smoke grenade and give me covering fire!" and then she does it after responding "OK!". How about having a conversation with Alyx?

2. FOV graphical render using NVMe SSD - A graphics rendering feature that is built-in the game engine so that your GPU and CPU only renders what player is seeing. Current graphics engine renders the world beyond the FOV because of hardware limitations in immediate rendering as you pan your camera/view. Having a graphics rendering system that renders graphics instantly and only what you're seeing allows for richer, more detailed worlds or less RAM usage.

Don't do this.

I've waited 100 years

_SilverHawk_58d ago

hopefully its a vr game or has the option to play in vr

TheColbertinator58d ago

The second option hopefully. I haven't played Alyx VR since the VR goggles hurt my eyes.

LordoftheCritics58d ago

Alyx VR was incredible.

Still unmatched

-Foxtrot58d ago

VR as an option - Totally fine.

VR Only - No thanks

I've been a Half Life fan since the original and have waited since 2007 for a sequel, it was already a kick to the nuts to have Half Life Alyx, a game which changes the ending of Episode 2 and will clearly be required to understand the story going forward in HL3, be a VR only title so I don't want a proper, full on sequel to be VR only aswell, it would be highly unfair to the HL fans who either don't like VR, can't afford it or can't do it for whatever reason.

Luckily going off the rumours, HL3 is a more traditional game.

FPS_D3TH57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

Sybau! Lol jk but please only the option. I’m still not buying vr today lol

Amplitude56d ago

It'll probably be VR exclusive with full body tracking sensors and a treadmill required to play

Now we know, why GTA VI got delayed.
Gabe Effect.

ZycoFox58d ago

I wonder if the rumours are true - that it has a highly destructible environment and very reactive with hot/cold with realism placed on wind and other physics, I guess it makes sense, HL2 was very impressive at the time and it carried over into GMOD. That's what I really liked about it, everything built into the engine.

The only thing that might slightly disappoint me is if they don't upgrade the graphics more. I like that Source and Source 2 has such a clean look, I just hope they push it so it's more like Source 2.5 if they haven't budged it up to Source 3. Being (supposedly) the game to finish the original story I hope they go all out if they can while maintaining high frame rates with modern hardware.

badz14956d ago

Source 3? Bold of you to assume Gaben knows how to count to 3

PRIMORDUS57d ago

If this is true I'm going to guess it would be still using the Source 2 engine.

SimpleDad57d ago

I hope!!! Dude... let's go! Can't wait!

RaidenBlack57d ago

We haven't seen the best of Source 2, yet.
No really.
Checked some threads, many features are still WiP.

Plagasx57d ago

GTA 6 and Half Life 3 releasing in the same year?? IMPOSSIBLE.

FPS_D3TH57d ago

6 hours too soon bro. GTA delayed to next year

Profchaos57d ago

It just seems so impossible that after so many years and so many false leaks and rumours this might be it.

I don't know how to feel about this the game has so much weight on it in terms of expectations now half life alyx was amazing so I think they can do it but they would be feeling the pressure
