a remake would be nice but I don't hold my breath for them.
Just hurry up with Final Fantasy XV. And FFXV should be a exclusive because I'm really tired of waiting for the next installment. It seems like it takes half a decade for the next one.
i must be the only one who thinks that a remake is out of the question. Can anyone tell me when did SE promise a remake? You guys should get over it cause a remake isn't happening. I am really excited for the HD version of FFVII, and it's a PS4 exclusive. It's a massive move from Sony. I haven't played FF7 since 1998-1999. When i see the latest FF games i am sure that remake would never match the magic of the original. This is for me one of the biggest announcements at the event.
It has definately been too long :( Which FF was your favorite? Mine was of course, 7 :(
(edit: oops, nothing, I misread, sorry! can't remove the comment...)
@abzdiine If SE do a remake of FFVII I wouldn't mind. But it's not required. I'd rather see new games that equal the experiences of first playing FFVII. FFVII remake would need a lot of changes to make it hold up today. The spread out Save points on their own would frustrate many newer players. The combat is a bit clunky as well.
I was thinking what if, like with Silent Hills/PT, when you complete this game you unlock a trailer announcing a FF7 remake? This is a possibility.
Hahaha, this is going to leave a bad taste in some mouths. Clever strategy though. Bring fans down just to pick them up again with an amazing new Final Fantasy
Or have them hope that FF15 will be a masterpiece after that huge disappointment, and then bring them down even harder, by either cancelling the game at the last minute or make the game not as good as it should be. Im hoping that FF15 will be good though
This is not new for us, Hashimoto and SE have been screwing it's fans for all this years.. They are not even listening to it's fan base though, most of their business practices are no longer pro-consumers and instead greed like other videogame companies out there.
Seriously, I was so excited when the FFVII title and logo flashed on the screen, but my anticipation got doused almost instantly when they showed the trailer. I don't know what SE is smoking, but Mr. Hashimoto did this during the PS4 reveal back in Feb. 2013. Now this again. I'm not an FFVII fan as I only played it on the PS3 two years ago; however, for those who played it back in the PS1 days, and for those who got hyped by the PS3 tech demo, this joke of an announcement is definitely a ball-dropper. They could've at least sharpened the graphics or removed some jaggies. Or, they could've made a very light announcement instead of a seemingly exciting one that fell flat on its face. Well, at least we still have Level-5, Atlus, and Namco Bandai with their JRPG goodness!
Yeah this kind of blows hard. So technically the game is on PS4, but Square Enix had to know this is not what people wanted. I mean really.
Idk. I think they think this was a Fantastic idea. Like people were asking for FF7 on PS4, and they were like, 'No problem! Done!' Without even giving it a second thought as to what fans meant.
Yeah, I agree...I'll avoid flat-out insulting them, and put it as nicely as possible: Japanese developers as a whole are completely disconnected from what their western fans want.
Have you guys seen how many views it already has on the playstation channel? Pretty sure that besides uncharted 4, this was the most viewed specific video game out of playstation experience on the playstation channel. Shows just how much we want a FF7 Remake…but that would just make too much sense right?
Please be excited
Can't wait till square goes out of business
its great to show contempt for your audience. Just ask Capcom and see how they are doing with their financial situation.
Can someone send video link when this guy make the crowd believe its a remake then trollin ppl live ? i loled so hard when i saw this
I take it you haven't met Hideo Kojima?..
Kojima's a legendary troll, but I don't think he's done anything this year to stir up this kind of trouble. This announcement was a complete Lv.99 Grade-A Premium Cut Troll. Square's silence since PS3's announcement about the tech demo just being a tech demo (they let everyone believe it was more than that for quite some time) gave everyone insane hope, then they tell us it's just a tech demo. Hype dies and years later, this weekend, they have all the fans salivating and hyperventilating at a PS4 remake of Final Fantasy VII, only to get troll smashed. It was a very effective soul-crushing troll. I was left in disbelief because when I saw the PS1 graphics, I thought they would show the evolution as a before/after effect... Nope. Kojima is a consistent super troll, but this wasn't even a funny troll. It was just wrong but I can't help but laugh about it now. Still...soul crushing. @Special-Agent Milo (Below) Hahaha, I felt the same! But even then, Kojima couldn't really add many games to a new collection after Legacy. Portable Ops and Snake's Revenge probably aren't popular options (though I did love PO).
Kojima is Master Troll Overlord. When he announced the Metal Gear Collection 2014 I was so bloody hyped that I started jumping on my bed and spammed my friends with MGS related stuff...turns out to be a clothing line...I cried for two days straight.
Although he is ofc a super troll, i think this year Hashimoto takes it. So close to the end of the year it stings the worst!
You will buy it and like it!!
Square is pettier than Capcom.
Shinji Hashimoto isn't a troll, he's just not a very good business man.
Hahaha maybe, but i think the internet will tend to disagree with y ou on that one. Maybe not the whole internet, Hashimoto should have a twitter account :)
2nd time this year sadly, Rise of the Tombraider made me cry a little inside. Xbox One :(
I loved this moment so much. *waiting for hd upscale/clear-up before/after conparison on trailer..... Still waits... Waits more.. It's not happening! This is the same as it was on ps1! (Albeit higher res output for the realtime 3d assets making the pixelly pre-rendered stuff look weird) Classic. I'll probably buy anyway if the music is sorted from the beginning and doesn't sound like midi ass.
When he said Juanal Wuantasy I thought he was confirming a new game. :I I really could barely understand that man.
ff7 proper remaster on its 20th anniversary. They would be crazy to miss it.
