a remake would be nice but I don't hold my breath for them.

Just hurry up with Final Fantasy XV. And FFXV should be a exclusive because I'm really tired of waiting for the next installment. It seems like it takes half a decade for the next one.

i must be the only one who thinks that a remake is out of the question. Can anyone tell me when did SE promise a remake? You guys should get over it cause a remake isn't happening.
I am really excited for the HD version of FFVII, and it's a PS4 exclusive. It's a massive move from Sony. I haven't played FF7 since 1998-1999.
When i see the latest FF games i am sure that remake would never match the magic of the original.
This is for me one of the biggest announcements at the event.

It has definately been too long :( Which FF was your favorite? Mine was of course, 7 :(

(edit: oops, nothing, I misread, sorry! can't remove the comment...)

@abzdiine

If SE do a remake of FFVII I wouldn't mind.

But it's not required. I'd rather see new games that equal the experiences of first playing FFVII.

FFVII remake would need a lot of changes to make it hold up today. The spread out Save points on their own would frustrate many newer players. The combat is a bit clunky as well.

I was thinking what if, like with Silent Hills/PT, when you complete this game you unlock a trailer announcing a FF7 remake? This is a possibility.

Hahaha, this is going to leave a bad taste in some mouths. Clever strategy though. Bring fans down just to pick them up again with an amazing new Final Fantasy

shodai1082d ago

Or have them hope that FF15 will be a masterpiece after that huge disappointment, and then bring them down even harder, by either cancelling the game at the last minute or make the game not as good as it should be.

Im hoping that FF15 will be good though

This is not new for us, Hashimoto and SE have been screwing it's fans for all this years.. They are not even listening to it's fan base though, most of their business practices are no longer pro-consumers and instead greed like other videogame companies out there.

Seriously, I was so excited when the FFVII title and logo flashed on the screen, but my anticipation got doused almost instantly when they showed the trailer.

I don't know what SE is smoking, but Mr. Hashimoto did this during the PS4 reveal back in Feb. 2013. Now this again.

I'm not an FFVII fan as I only played it on the PS3 two years ago; however, for those who played it back in the PS1 days, and for those who got hyped by the PS3 tech demo, this joke of an announcement is definitely a ball-dropper.

They could've at least sharpened the graphics or removed some jaggies. Or, they could've made a very light announcement instead of a seemingly exciting one that fell flat on its face.

Well, at least we still have Level-5, Atlus, and Namco Bandai with their JRPG goodness!
