Dragon Age: Inquisition on PC vs PS4 vs Xbox One

A video showing comparisons between the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition has been released by IGN.

I can't help but notice that the PS4 version looks significantly better in almost every aspect. The lighting, textures and FPS seem to look best on the PS4.

This is what I love about Sony, for $399, we are getting so much. I own all 4 platforms and 2014 has been the graphical year of the PS4.

While I do have a gaming PC running all games on ultra settings, I can't help but feel at home when I am touching my PS4 controller. Every time I turn my PS4 on I get the chills. I feel like I am part of something revolutionary. I will always be part of the playstation family!

EGM writes: "Being a BioWare game, a Dragon Age one in particular, Inquisition is not without its fair share of technical problems that must unavoidably be addressed. The PlayStation 4 version I received, most notably, was basically unplayable, frequently seizing up and locking the system completely, forcing me to unplug the system while still active. I eventually switched to the Xbox One version, which was considerably less dysfunctional but did crash out to the Dashboard two or three times."

Uh oh, I expect we are going to see a sh*tstorm over this too. At least if people are actually consistent.

Levis3487d ago

This was due to the incompatibility with firmware 2.0. Firmware 2.02 has been released correcting all the problems. It was not an issue with the game just the stability with the firmware that has since been resolved. It runs perfectly on PS4 actually, most reviewers had that version.

Whatever you're smoking, I want some of it

camel_toad3487d ago

Well if the ps4 controller is the only thing keeping you from playing it on your pc at ultra settings you know you can use it on your pc...

Major_Nailson3487d ago

It's not the same. I feel like I am betraying Sony. I just don't feel right. Smh

Sony is a company that caters to hundreds of millions of people. It wants your business but it won't collapse sobbing on the floor if you decide to do something else. You are a gamer. Your gaming experience is your choice, and not Sony's.

if you just wish hard enough, that could actually be true.... and i dunno what seems so revolutionary about the ps4. when i turn mine on i think... ps3 with more horsepower - not a bad thing, not revolutionary though. its definitely slick i'll give it that.

regarding the graphics... the pc had the sharpest imaging and better color. the x1 and ps4 versions look good in comparison but slightly inferior to the pc over all, even if not by much. between the x1 and ps4, the differences seem minor to nonexistent. one shot seems to have a different camera on the comparisons as the ps4 version is really close to the burning house and the x1 version seems further away or more wide angle. *shrug* apparently all versions are pretty broken though with the ps4 version being worse. whether thats true or not who knows.

TheRedButterfly3487d ago

Oh what planet does the PS4 version look better than any other version?! They're identical in EVERY SCENE except for the lighting difference at 3:50. Whatever you're smoking, I think we could all use a hit or two.

RedstonerMC3487d ago (Edited 3487d ago )

Love the ps4 but all these versions look damn near identical. Xbone is a little lower quality and PC has much better lighting but other than that...

Reddzfoxx3487d ago

There is no way you could tell on a compressed video the Xbox was lower quality.

Game looks great on all platforms. I hope it plays smoothly and isn't a bug filled mess though... That's my only worry :-/

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription

Teflon02948d ago

Still technically paying for it, even if it wasn't your intent. They've been giving out games with Twitch prime, they just changed the name. It's the same sub as that was. If you weren't aware, great. But you're paying for it.

That being said, I don't personally care. For me as long as you're willing to pay that for 1 service and get more. I personally take it as free. Like prime video, music though the prime version is trash, and all the Twitch benefits are all free to me because I didn't care about those when I got it. Just comes with it.

Only noted because that's technically wrong as a defense to that argument, whether I'm on yourside with the initial statement lol

mkis007948d ago

It's free to anyone who has already been paying. IDK why people need to split hairs.

TinkerNation948d ago

How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?

Germaximus948d ago

lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
