consoul @ neogaf said that the video walkthrough will be out on the 30th

he is a well known trusted source so this is pretty much official

Silogon5783d ago

Alright, so we have 5 days to get our new complaint list in order so we can attack Sony's blog in unison, alright!!!!!

Anyways, I am glad Sony has finally got us to this stage but I hope they don't stop here. I hope they continue to evlove the ps3/the xmb & the psn store for us.

pwnsause5783d ago

jeez you were complaining for a while. if theres any complaint that i have its the lack of content on the PS store

ATLRoAcH5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

You are Gamesblow aren't you? Admit it. I know you are. I'm on the PS Blog all the time and I can just tell you're him. The one on the Blog anyway.

RevN8r5783d ago

Only 5 days left! Ok, it's unlikely the update will actually come on the 30th as well, but at least we have something to look forward to! I'm excited!

pharmd5783d ago

any update is a good update =D

thePatriot5783d ago

you cant have a walkthrough without the update. did the new store walktrough came before or after the new store came out?

TheHater5783d ago

it came out before the store update. About a week before the update.

So does that mean that the 2.4 update is going to come out about a week after the video?

pwnsause5783d ago

no it would come out on the same week as the video

Ri0tSquad5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

Feels good to know I'm not the only one who thinks that Silogon is Gamesblow.

pwnsause5783d ago

it is gamesblow man, you know its him, what happened gamesblow, did you get banned by "revealing" too much? thats why you have to hide your identity?

ATLRoAcH5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

I don't think he is gamesblow, I know it. I'm here to call him out with proof. Oh this is sweet. Okay here is the proof.

A quote from gamesblow on the PS Blog:

"As for what I want out of in game xmb is simply the option to switch resolutions on the fly. going from 720P to 1080p at will when I want cause Warhawk and Uncharted for instance are 2 games that look and play better, to me, in 1080p but right now you have to manually do it everytime you want to play."

http://blog.us.playstation....

A quote from Silogon on N4G:

"Hmmm, seems a bit odd doesn't it? I guess it could be alright, but I didn't see the option to toggle resolutions in game there. That's going to be a bummer as that was my main function most wanted.

Really, do I wanna play "the nothing song" while playing Resistance 2? No. not really, but what I would of liked is the option to switch to 1080P from 720P on games that allow it like Uncharted and Warhawk for instance. Without backing out of the game and going to your settings and what not. It becomes a hassle."

http://n4g.com/NewsCom-1613...

Sound similar? These two are more than similar, they're one in the same. I told him to admit it and he didn't. I brought the proof. There it is. lol

xsteinbachx5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

I messaged that gamesblow way back when the sameone on the PSN. Heres my message I received.

"Re: youtube.
From: gamesblow

* Remove gamesblow from Friends
* |
* Ignore gamesblow

Date: 05-31-2008 04:11 PM
Wrong gamesblow, dude. I've been wanting know myself and everyone keeps messaging me thinking I am him. I'm the gamesblow from the sony blog "omegaknowsitall" from gamefaqs me and gamesblow go way back. He's started working for Sony's sales department at their sandieago studio and that's the last I heard.
"

ATLRoAcH5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

I know he is not the original gamesblow. This guy has admitted that before. I'm just saying the one on the PS Blog now and Silogon are the same person. Although it has been so long I forget who the real gamesblow is.

(edit)
@ butterfinger

Yeah, gamesblow was REALLY full of himself. I remember him trying to get his myspace blog stuff approved on N4G. He always talked about how he was the great gamesblow and all that. I always knew he was full of sh!t.

butterfinger5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

Does anyone remember when Gamesblow "confirmed" that In-Game XMB was coming out months ago? He said something like "Next week, In-Game XMB. It's already up and running." What a dumbass. It seems as though he thought he knew more than he actually did and now he is no more helpful than anyone of us.

@above - Gamesblow is pretty much a laughingstock now in my eyes, and I'd say the title is well-deserved:)

Ri0tSquad5783d ago

Caught. No way out of this.

xsteinbachx5783d ago

He was just as much correct as Sev is. Basically they're both full of sh*t.

butterfinger5783d ago

is that Gamesblow was an arrogant a$$hole about the information he provided. He attacked other "insiders" and poked fun at their fans. Sev is generally well-mannered and tends to look at things on a more even keel. I just find it funny that Gamesblow is basically nothing now compared to what he was trying to be. "New Sony-backed website May 15th, no May 25th, no June 3rd!" lol. These "insiders" need to understand that their information is generally subject to change, and they need to be more humble in case it does. I always get a sense of attitude from whoelse when people don't believe his claims, and where is 2.4 now? We know the update is coming, and we know it will be soon. These dates are just frustrating in the end.

LinuxGuru5783d ago

Whoa there Steinbach.....Sev is not full of sh*t.

He's the most level-headed person you could ever expect to meet in any form of gaming media.

I've only worked with him at playstationlifestyle.net for a very short time, but I'll tell you right now, Sev and his blog (pslifestyle) are anything BUT full of sh*t.

You can't possibly know him until you work with him.

ATLRoAcH5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

You can't compare gamesblow and Sev. Sev isn't an a$$hole like gamesblow. Sev is pretty straight up with you at least. He always stresses that his info is rumor until confirmed. I don't remember gamesblow's Myspace blog getting hits and mentions from other sites like Sev's site. Sev was also invited to E3 so I'd say he has surpassed gamesblow to a pretty far extent.

(edit)

@ butterfinger

Yeah he has always gotten under my skin on the Blog. The way he is a Sony fan but always hates on Sony is what made me think they were the same person. They both have that split personality/bipolar thing going on. They're just too similar. Oh and yeah, I can't help but laugh myself. It really is pretty funny.

butterfinger5783d ago

I just read your original proof post about Silogon/Gamesblow, and I must admit I believe you are correct. Even the avatar is similar to what gamesblow had on N4G before, and both of them always bring up Uncharted on the PS3 like it is the greatest gift to gaming ever made. Gamesblow is a total joke now, and I truly can't help but laugh. The constant commenting on nearly every article is pretty similar to gamesblow's style on the blog as well. This kid truly has no life whatsoever.

Shadow Flare5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

What makes me think Silogon is Gamesblow is because he uses that same stupid avatar as him with that idiot Qbert thing, but i sort of think he may be that person who used to be on n4g called Lightning cos both Lightning and Silogon have serious bi-polar disorder. Im not even joking i really think they do have bi-polar disorder. One day silogon is trash talking the ps3 like a full out xbox fanboy, and the next day he has nothing but praise for the ps3 and cusses the 360 like a ps3 fanboy! Either way, it's on my ignore list. Oh yeah, and good to see a video walkthrough coming, that has to mean its close now.

Edit: Oh yeah, Sev is cool and produces good info which i find easily believable. Don't use Sev and that jackass gamesblow in the same sentance

Edit - Part Deux: @1.10, OK, Silogon is Gamesblow.

Silogon5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

Posted in the wrong spot sorry for the mix up.

Anyways, No afraid not guys I am on that blog and you can see our exchanges if you would like but so far you all think I'm 20 different people and none of you are right.

That Games blow isn't even the real Games blow either by the way. We have been through it already. Check my IP address if you'd like. Doesn't Games blow still have an active account here? Check our IP's as I have told you all to do before. He is from California and I am from somewhere completley different all together on the map check my speed test results against his on the offical forums, even. He is over there too, only it isn't the real one either so I don't know which Games blow you all are trying to say I am but I am neither of any of them.

I live in Kansas city and came from the Neogaf forums and didn't know who Games blow was until I came here and people started saying I was the xbox equivalent to games blow.

I don't know what else to tell you people that will make you stop and realise just because someone new comes to this blog doesn't mean he is someone else. your conspiracy theories are a little out there.

As for my avatar and his being the same????? Really? Mine is The Rubix cube guy from my favorite childhood cartoon and Games Blow's is/was Qbert. Learn your facts before you send me to trial.

Also, do you think I would be stupid enough to post information cross website/forum/blog that is so closley matched up to Games blow's if I didn't want to be "CAUGHT" or what ever you all think I am trying to pull off here? I know the Games blow from the sony blog and we don't get along and all, simply check the burnout post to see proof of that. I am in there. I haven't liked that Games blow since the night of the late update to the Psn and he and his troll buddies were in there causing problems and they we all got kicked but him.

whoelse5783d ago

I always made it clear that the original date was subject to change. And it did. Im sorry if i came across if i had some sort of attitude.

Shadow Flare5783d ago

Ok Silogon, let's run through the facts here ok: you're an idiot, shut up.

Yoma5783d ago

We won't get the FirmWare on 30:th.

Official announcement on the 30th.
The video walkthrough and official screens of in-game XMB, profiles and trophies will all be out on Monday.

Note THE VIDEO WALKTHROUGH!! Not the firmware.

kthxbye

juuken5783d ago

Maaaan, I can't stand that Gamesblow guy. I don't know why they didn't suspend him from the blog. o-o

Silogon5782d ago

I don't like the guy myself and that is why it is even funnier that you all assume I am him.

xsteinbachx5782d ago

FYI it was gamesblows standard practice to never post anything from his own computer, but relayed information to other people for them to post for him.

im so looking forward to this update

Liquid Dust5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

This update is going to be a big help when it comes to getting my friends rallied together to play either Call of Duty 4 or MGO, because right now communication is just very difficult via sending a message or making a phone call if their not already playing the game.

This will make PSN life a whole lot easier and change the face of the online gaming community for PS3 owners.

Looks like Sony is putting their best foot forward for this update.

aiphanes5783d ago

There is still so much potential in the PS3 os, xmb and home..two years from know we will look back to 2008 and say dang!

It seems like the PS3 is evolving much faster than the Xbox 360 and wii...

heavyarms5783d ago

you mean its catching up the xbox360.

SL1M DADDY5783d ago

So true there bud. If Sony can offer it up for free, why not MS? Is it because without digging their fanbase for 50 bucks a year the gaming division of MS would be in dire need of some other help? Do they really need 50 bucks from everybody just to maintain a service that Sony is offering for free? Is charging for Live really helping the community or is it just fattening the wallets of the greedy folks at MS?

I guess I am of the opinion that if Sony can offer a great gaming service for free, then MS should do so too. That's just my opinion though.

juuken5783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

It's catching up and gaining a lotta strength.
Sony's going all out in this war.
SL1M DADDY, you KNOW MS can't offer their stuff for free. They love the $!

ruibing5782d ago

@heavyarms
You obviously haven't heard of that Avatar/Gamepad rumor floating around of how the 360 is trying to imitate the Mii and Home,

hopefully they'll revel in game voice chat

TheHater5783d ago

yeah, that is so sweet. I was chatting with my friend on xbox live. He was playing Viking, and I was playing Lost Odyssey.

RememberThe3575783d ago (Edited 5783d ago )

YES! Its about freakin time. My PS3 will finally be complete! Wait I just realized that The announcement is suppose to come on the 30th not the firmware... Oh well! Happy Day!

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies10h ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken5h ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing6921h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker21h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo21h ago(Edited 21h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing6921h ago(Edited 21h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos17h ago(Edited 17h ago)

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt9h ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken5h ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos1d 3h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto1d 2h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger881d 2h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies16h ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.
