PS4 Firmware 1.74 Releasing Soon says Sony, Improves Stability of Some Software, Changelog Awaited

Sony has just announced via official Playstation Twitter account that Playstation 4 will receive firmware 1.74. This means, Industry Insider Tidux was spot on with his yesterday's leak. Sony confirmed that Playstation 4 firmware 1.74 will improve stability of some software.

One guy on the twitter feed used the term "Asian moneys" while another asked when the PS4 was getting Skype.

And of course I'm more incensed by one rather than the other.

PS4 skype would be great. It would eliminate the need for party's, with cross platform chat! Id love to talk to my PS4 buddys while on X1 or vice versa without having both consoles on.

Hmmmm Sony already said earlier that news from an update is coming soon. Nothing to do with *insider* info.

I'm actually quite surprised MS are beating Sony to the punch on 3D Blu-ray playback. My head automatically associates Sony with Blu-ray, so I just expect them to lead on that.

Well... I was surprised they didn't both include it from the outset. But maybe if they did I'd have been more annoyed when my Xbox lost the ability to read discs :)

I am getting bit disappointed with the lack of new features. I know PS3 was a slow burner so I expect the same this time round.

I welcome the stability improvements but we are seriously due some missing features!

MP3 Support, Suspend Resume, Take of Control Friends Game, 3d Bluray, Friend Online Notifications, Pin Game and App and hide after unused for certain period of time and DNLA being the most annoying and have been promised by Sony.

Hey look on the positive side of things, just two more stability updates, each every two to three months, and at the end of the year or spring next year Sony adds tiny new features with 1.80, like Singstar as a permanent Icon in the new UI, that you can't get rid of.
