Hardcore Gamer: Harmonix is interested with moving the series forward and a Xbox One/PS4/Wii U debut is a possibility.
I think it's time for it to come back. People have gotten over their anxiety of having a million plastic instruments everywhere and although it won't be a fad anymore, it can bank on devoted fans.
I think Rock Band was one of the best games of last gen. I put it up there with Modern Warfare 1 and TLOU. I would like Rock Band to make a comeback, but I'm not sure how many people would rebuy a new set of plastic instruments. I still have mine guitar and drums collecting dust. Id like to use them if a new game came out. All the DLC I bought from last gen should cross over as well.
I played pro drums & used the ION'S great stuff. However I switched this gen to Playstation & I have literally hundreds of DLC songs on the Xbox 360. The amount I spent I think if they let us cross over to this gen it would be cheaper for me to buy an X1 than re-buy the songs lol.
Same here istuii. All my rock band stuff was on the 360. Oh well, I miss the game and would love it again.
We'd probably be screwed on DLC anyway since the song licenses are left to expire or are already expired. On the idea of a new a Rock Band: 100% I'd buy it.
Rock band 4 oh god damn please!
If I could use my old controllers I'm up for it cause I'm not ready to by more peripherals.
I would buy RB4 this second if it was out. And would love to see DLC return. Wonder if they could get the songs to transfer to PS4
No thanks, I bought all the plastic instruments last gen, and they do nothing but collect dust at this point.
I likely wouldn't get it. I would rather learn an actual instrument, honestly. I know two people that could give me guitar lessons for free...
But then you'd miss out on all the Rock Band groupies.
Haha, the only groupie I want or need is my girlfriend/fiance. I think she'd be more impressed with an actual guitar serenade, anyways.XD
Get Rocksmith! That one helps you learn real guitar. :D I play and love both because they are both their own skill. :)
The problem with these games is that they never have the songs I want! It took them like until Guitar hero 5 to add in Du Hast.
If you go back to a certain Rock Band update, you can make your own custom tracks with a MIDI editor. :)
Get rocksmith then?
As everyone said, get Rocksmith 2014. It's a much better investment than Rock Band, and like Harmonix's series, it's getting great DLC all the time.
Years of playing in bands made me skip buying this you have to basically unlearn years of music to be good at the game certainly did not feel natural , I had a good go of the game though. You are better off learning a real instrument I played bass , guitar and drums for 20 years I am by no means great lessons ruin natural feel and progression recommend 5 lessons then explore for yourself.
Odd, because I have a Rock Band band of actual musicians, and we're pretty damn good. Hasn't affected any of our ability to play real instruments. On topic, I would love a new Rock Band. It's been way too long. ...just don't turn it into a yearly thing, and it should do alright.
Must not be a soul player lol.
There is absolutely no way you can learn guitar from a guitar controller, but I have heard success stories from Rock Band drummers and vocalists saying that Rock Band drums and singing helped them improve their real-world playing.
Bring it on!
Yes yes yes yes annnd yes. It needs a comeback
I'll go with Rocksmith 2014
Only if they include alot of Amon Amarth (and similar)
I will never spend 100 bucks on plastic instruments again.
Yes please,Huge fan and have bought a the majority of the DLC. New Rock Band! PLEASE!
It could work as long as they don't over saturate the market like las time. We only need one game and make new instruments stand alone for people who want them but not nessasary. We don't need a new game each year, i say sell a 12 month season pass each year that comes with all dlc would be best.
You could thank Activision for that.
Yeah keep playing those games they will make you a great musician lmao , singer holds up colour cards to try and help with ur timing .
It was never ment to, its a game. I can play anything with strings but still enjoyed the games for what they were. Rocksmith can teach people to play but to me it wasn't any fun and i could learn using tabs faster.
As long as I can use the instruments and songs I already own, sign me the f*** up.
Still have big rock band nights at my place. Ready for more.
