Terribly. There's already an article about this.

Nyxus1487d ago

I wouldn't say terribly. It's at number 3, 2 and 1 in the different charts respectively.

TheDarpaChief1486d ago

dont bother nyxus. let them have their fun now cause when phantom pain drops whatever they prefer will become a joke in comparison.

Geekman1486d ago

I'd say it did "Ground Zeroes!" AHAHAHAHAHAHA! (Please don't throw those tomatoes.)

memots1486d ago

and the answer is ?!!! .....

Roll the drum please ...

: No one cares

Pretty funny how everyone is going around saying 'it's a demo bullshit LAWL' yet the sales speak for themselves, people want metal gear, length nonwithstanding.

Bathyj1486d ago

I dont think anyone complained about the game itself. Most reviewers and observers alike chose to talk about the length and the cost over the quality.

Sly-Lupin1486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

Sales are not now and never have been indicative of quality. And so it will always be.

In point of fact, it's something of a truism that the more popular a media is, the more generic it is. Food for thought.

If you think Game X is a good game, let it be because it is a good game; if you think Game Y is a bad game, let it be because it is a bad game. Not because it sold well or poorly.

And if you'll allow me to briefly share my own, personal thought on the matter in a parenthetical:

(That line of thinking is the epitome of stupid).

Kenshin_BATT0USAI1486d ago

*sigh* and you are why I hate Hipsters. "it's generic and sells well, therefore it sucks"

Buddy, people don't buy things because they suck. Believe it or not, that's not how the world works. It may hurt to hear this but people buy CoD because *gasp* THEY LIKE COD. Get it? Got it? Good.

Sly-Lupin1485d ago

...And this is why I hate morons. Well, not hate: pity.

All I'm saying is that the only thing relevant to the quality of a game is the game itself. Which is an attitude that is, as I understand things, utterly antithetical to "hipsterism."

But, by all means, tell me I'm wrong. However, I warn you that we're rapidly approaching the "too ****ing stupid to bother" threshold.

Xof1485d ago

It amazes me that anyone would disagree with this. Are people Metal Gear fans misreading this as some sort of attack? Or are there really people out there who legitimately believe that sales data is an accurate metric of game quality?

SG1_dapunisherX1486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

ground zero flop in japan.... second week is gonna flop harder. I'm waiting for the real deal phantom pain

2pacalypsenow1486d ago

So you want GZ to flop potentially hurting PHantom pains development because of the money they can make to put towards the game..

No_Limit1486d ago

No, because if Ground Zero succeeded, it will open Pandora's Box for not just Konomi but for other publishers to plan releases of more 1 hour prologue for future games and robbing customers of their hard earn money.

SG1_dapunisherX1486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

for me idc i hope it flop bad.. it teach them a lesson not to charge a 2hour gameplay which it should have been $15 or free.. and trust me ground zero will not effect phantom pain
@ no_limit indeed

TheDarpaChief1486d ago

@no_limit i do get what youre saying but i dont think anyone else has the balls to even try this. this is metal gear we are talking about, not some yearly redone bullshit. And i think 200,000 sales in japan only for a demo is pretty incredible
