1UP: Haze Preview

The demo for Haze, the much-discussed, oft-delayed sci-fi first-person shooter from developer Free Radical, hit Sony's online PlayStation Store yesterday, and 1UP couldn't resist the chance to finally get a crack at it. Haze sees you commanding trooper Shane Carpenter, a soldier for Mantel Global Industries, a giant, multinational corporation out to crush the mysterious rebel group known as the Promise Hand.

I am really looking forward to this game.

Same here. The demo was good but i'm hoping the final product is even better.

Is anyone else getting the free stuff from GAME?

resistance1005831d ago

I would have been, but i have a £45 credit note for Gamestation to use up, so getting HAZE with that.

in the preview they said use the LEFT TRIGGER to use Nectar.

Kleptic5831d ago

dude..when it comes to PS3 stuff, 1up has no idea...

not only that, but they are blatantly wrong in parts...they claim the game has no scopeless zoom or iron site options...and just watching a single video of playing as a rebel and you can see that you have the option to aim down the iron sites...

the trooper's mask have the zoom feature built into it...when you switch sides you won't have that...why does 1up get paid for shat like this?...

crunchie1015831d ago

yes it was rather remiss of them to not know about the Ironsights later on in the game, but I don't think calling L2 the left trigger is such a big deal

Not all that accurate with the actual review. I'm wondering if they played the game? Other wise I'm gearing up to buy Haze. It's not the best experience but it's not the worst either.

Sure the single player in the demo is a little sloppy. Very little gets explained and very little story spoiled. Although, thats why its called a demo. They aint gonna spoil every bit of story, cmon. How else will they sell the game?

But the real highlight is the multi player. Each side has its pros and cons and Im expecting the multi player to be a blast. No loading, lagfree multi matches. Bring it on, I say.

And lets be honest here. Who plays FPS for its storyline anyway? Its all about blasting your HUMAN opponent into smithereens. And HAZE looks like its gonna deliver on that front.

Top 10 Bad Games by Good Studios

Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "When shopping for new video games you can often trust the name publisher or developer on the box to be an indication of the quality of the game. Names like Nintendo, Square Enix, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Capcom, Xbox Game Studios and Sega are world famous because they helped shape the industry by releasing some of the most defining video games of all time. Though sometimes even these great gaming houses stumble and put out a stinker."

Splatterhouse remake . Loved the og’s at the arcade growing up . Hell the best thing about the remake was the og,s were included . And left alive by Square . That game had so much potential , but the gameplay was worse horrendous .

Game-ur1393d ago

once Great studios getting destroyed is actually common. happened with ND and Last of Us2, Bioware and Mass Effect Andromeda/Anthem, Bungle and Destiny .

BeRich2331393d ago

Fuse should have been on that list (Insomniac Games)

Yui_Suzumiya1393d ago

Splatterhouse remake kicked ass

merryja1393d ago

I personally don't like these games.

I'm pretty much certain that any Sonic game that comes out will be terrible, I've not enjoyed one since the original side-scrolling days of the MegaDrive.

Then you might like a recent sonic "sonic mania".

jaymacx1393d ago

For this Topic it says Good Studios that make bad games. Sonic Team hasn't been good in years.
