When it comes to videogames, there has always been a genre that us nerdy, socially awkward gamers have held near and dear to our hearts: fighting. Whether it’s a straight up brawler, or a more plot-heavy slice-’em-up, major game companies have been feeding our unquenchable thirst to relentlessly beat up others for years, throwing AAA title after AAA title at us for our temporary pleasure. And while many of these games have a place in the halls of videogame legend (*cough* Street Fighter *cough cough* Mortal Combat), it just begins to feel a little cookie-cutter after a while. Well just when all hope was seemingly lost, a glimmer of light shone bright and true through the darkness. Overgrowth.

I first found out about this game six years ago, when it had already had several years development time, and it’s hard to say how much has obviously changed - I barely remember what I had for breakfast this morning, let alone a barebones fighting game from six years ago!"
