At CES 2014, Polk Audio Sound Guru Michael DiTullo demonstrates the latest Xbox One N1 soundbar technology for Halo and FORZA games, as well as the new 133t Xbox 360 and 4 Shot Xbox One gaming headphones.
Polk audio has revealed new headsets for gaming as well as a new Hitman set.
While a sound bar will never match a multi-speaker set-up, some cunning engineering does mimic the effect very well. Walking through the fields of Ferelden in Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Average Gamer could hear mosquitoes buzzing around and pick out distant battles to the left and right. On the driving preset, screaming around corners in Forza 5 is particularly impressive. However, most of the surround sound effect seems simply come from filling the room with volume.
Known the world over for their excellent home audio products, Polk Audio is a relatively new competitor in the lucrative gaming space. Going up against some tough competition from industry heavyweights like Turtle Beach, Mad Catz and Astro is no easy feat.
