DayZ Sales Prove Zombies are Still Popular

Hardcore Gamer: It’s a good thing I’m not the president of video games, because I’d have banned zombies about fifteen games ago. And if the DayZ sales are any indication, my impeachment would have commenced shortly thereafter.

DayZ is a really popular game but the sales don't prove zombies are still popular. Majority of those sales are from DayZ loyalist. These are the people that don't care if the game is still in alpha stage and plague with bugs. If anything it proves Brohemia got a strong playerbase that's willing to support them.

True, but you know how people take facts (like sales) and twist them to mean all kinds of different things. Like how people called Super Mario 3D World out for proving Mario is stale, versus low Wii U fan base, tight funds (new consoles) and other such things.

I would say it proves that people are still willing to support zombie franchises, which is why Dead Rising 3 and The Walking Dead Season 2 are both doing okay (regardless of side factors that are helping, like DR 3 being one of the few XB1 exclusives).

Well just look at what dead rising 3, the last of us, and dying light are doing. There's massive backing for those titles, and they are zombie apocalypse games. It's not so much about the over saturation of the genre, but too many mediocre zombie games release.

i have been playing dayz for a year by way of mod and the stand alone is so u dont need arma 2.

i think i got dayz stand alone free any way by buying something else.

I dont think it has to do with Zombies, it couldve been dinosaurs, bears, wolves, anything...

The part that gets ppl is the resource management and tense atmosphere

Cause zombies game is very popular like FPS game. Gamer will buy these type of game no matter how shitty they are.

Zombies have always been popular and probably always will be. The defining factor will be the gameplay of said zombie game.
