It seems Egosoft are taking the same route opted for by Creative Assembly with Total War: Rome 2 and firing out the patches in public beta form before making them all official. Patch 1.18 beta is available on Steam right now.
A remake of X Rebirth: Home of Light for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift has been released into Early Access.
EGOSOFT has announced that the Birth of Light expansion and the 4.0 update will be launched for their spaceship sim X Rebirth this coming February 2016. Preorders for the expansion are now available as well.
GG3 writes: "Grand space sci-fi game, X Rebirth, has announced a permanent price drop. Additionally, as the game moves to update 3.50, a free-to-play weekend for that iteration, as well as the entire X series, will be held on March 13 to March 15, 2015 on Steam."
