GentlemenRUs3833d ago

Ah that was a good show :P

But yeah, You will likely need a gtx780i to even run this game =/

Persistantthug3833d ago

Dang...that's alot of money.

I don't even know if you can consider it indie anymore. It's almost "AAA Budget" at this point.

Just out of curiosity, did they say if this game was going to the 8th gen consoles or not?

Biozerker3832d ago

They're keeping it PC only, no chance at a console launch, looks like.

PotatoClock3831d ago

It was always going to be AAA. No indie development was intended for this title.

The first AAA space sim in a VERY long time.

ATiElite3832d ago

WOW I said S.C. would hit $30m in ten days but it did it in 6 days!

I have a Stealth Hornet and Retaliator in my hangars so I'm good but at $32m I may pitch in more to another ship or lifetime insurance!

Squadron 42 should be kicking off soon but I will just a 300i for that!

StarCitizen in 4k is gonna be fantastic!

You watch, these guys will be driving around in Lamborghinis and they be drinking Courvoisier as they develop the game, and by the time they finish developing the game, probably $15 Million will have actually gone into the game itself.

TheObserver3833d ago

Ha! Have you seen their behind the scene they broadcast weekly? The devs live like pigs inside their studio, not kings. Even the main dude Christ Roberts have black bag under his eyes sometimes. The money is being spent accordingly.

PotatoClock3831d ago

It's the executives of EA and Acti who do what you just described.

These guys are all about the games, not the money.

DanielGearSolid3833d ago

Ok 30 mil deserves my lofty attention /s

But seriously, what's this game about?

come_bom3833d ago

"Star Citizen is an upcoming space trading and combat simulator video game for Microsoft Windows. Star Citizen will consist of two main elements: a persistent world massively multiplayer online game mixing elements of first person space combat and interstellar trade (known as Star Citizen) and a branching single-player and drop-in co-operative multiplayer[6] campaign (known as Squadron 42), together with customizable private server components. The game will feature Oculus Rift support."

Is this along the lines of say EVE?

OrangePowerz3833d ago (Edited 3833d ago )

It`s a space opera, one part is Squadron 42 that`s a singleplayer campaign and one part will be MMO. Imagine Freelancer as an MMO, that`s at least how I think it`s going to be from the what has been shown so far.

I`m hugely looking forward to it since I love space operas.

Is a space simulator lol like we can simulate how spave works because we have been and live in space right? /s lol
It claims to be the last true pc game that will save pc gaming like if it needs any saving and talks bs aboit console, I.mean this guys hit the nail and brainwashed all hardcore pc gamers ..

By the time this game comes out it will be outdated and it will probably also be in the ps4.. even after all their claims and hate towards consoles.

It does have a interesting idea but we have to still see action gamaplay.. they have only showed a plane flying in a empty space abd a avatar walking inside the ships ..

Sadly is a pay to win game anf noting can be good from that system.

I was just answering the guy sorry to hurt the feelings of few of you my bad.

I'm playing gtav and doing the flying school and flying is actually fun in gtav I will have add spoiler alert but gtav is not on pc so pc gamers can't get spoilers from a game they can't play.. that is why I did not put spoiler alert.

Anyways the game seem to have a unique feeling to it in term of video games.. sadly is a pay to win game.. it will be when it lau"nchs some day I hope not far far away in the future.. well I'm back to gtav.. I will categorized play to have fun .. gladly is not a pay to win game.

Conzul3832d ago (Edited 3832d ago )

It's basically everything Roberts wanted Freelancer to be before M$ bought Digital Anvil and rushed the game to market in 2001.

I'm curious to see what comes out of this game. If it's not a great game, a lot of people are going to be pissed.

KwietStorm_BLM3833d ago

I was just thinking that. It's one thing if a so called AAA game or a sequel from an established series disappoints. But this is being funded by the people, by a huge amount. Same goes for Mighty No.9. I don't think they could have expected this kind of response, but I wonder if they feel any added pressure.

Star Citizen free fly event is live, giving everyone access to its ships and vehicles

Star Citizen is hosting a massive free-fly event, offering everyone access to its sci-fi universe as well as almost all its ships and vehicles. The free-to-play promotion lasts for 12 days.

peppeaccardo3d ago

Wait !! What ? No news of STAR Citizen surpassing the Billion dollars funding? This feels like the same as the Malboro guys offering free smokes at a kindergarten garden. I pass and wake me up when this is actually released and has a price for purchase, if reviews scores are 10 or above I might buy... I might.

Star Citizen showcases the creation of the two brand-new animals coming to alpha 3.23

Land on any planet in Star Citizen currently and you’ll be greeted by things like weather patterns, flora, and very possibly a derelict or two. What you won’t find are any animals, however. That’s going to change with alpha 3.23’s release, as CIG has finally put together two animals to populate certain planets. That’s not quite three, but it’s more than one!

People will have had entire careers by the time this game reaches Gold status.

Two brand-new animals? Fantastic. This game should be ready by the time the Vault Dwellers come out from their Vaults Two Hundred years after the Apocalypse.

Any minute now...
