Next-gen consoles: should you buy on day one or play the waiting game?

GamesinAsia: The PS4 will launch this Friday, November 15 in the US, Tuesday, December 17 for Hong Kong and we’ll receive the rest of its Asian release dates soon; the Xbox One comes out next week, on Friday, November 22 in the US and late 2014 here in Asia. It is the dawn of a new generation as we get nearer to the next-gen consoles’ launches, but there is one issue that needs discussion: should you embrace either of those shiny new consoles immediately, or wait it out? It's always smart to wait for later but, I can't resist. I'm always a day one buyer.

I'm the same way. I have 3 PS4s to pick up and an Xbox One. I'm currently second guessing whether or not I should buy them this week and next but the kid in me really doesn't want to wait.

3 ps4's? 0.o

Also, I don't get the articles telling/suggesting us not to get teh console day 1, i mean, all pre orders are gone and it's a bit too late now isn't it. It's not like I'm going to cancell my pre order, it'll only annoy the people who didn't get to the chance to order it in time lol

It's always best to play the waiting game when looking at purchasing electronics

Next year , PS4/X1 will probably come with a 1 or 2tb hdd , a game or 2 bundled , for the same price as now.

Waited long enough.... 8 years.

Day One for me..... If, I can get my hands on one.

I'm just waiting for the developers to keep up with the progression. :)

This generation is more than a few years over time.

Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster Review – An Epic Tale Of Pixelated Portrayals

Gary Green said: We’re finding ourselves in a similar position with the Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy IV as we were with Final Fantasy III since, once again, we’ve received a slightly upscaled, more vibrant port of the original game when there’s already an expanded 3D remake available. As such, we’re playing a game which, even after its long-awaited release, still lives very much in the shadow of its remake.

If only they didn't screw ps4 owners over with a physical release. I'd have ran through this in a heartbeat.

The first one I played, it was the one that made me fall in love with JRPGs and is still my favorite to this day. A masterpiece
