The Elder Scrolls Online - Post-E3 preview | Game Guys

Over the past number of years, Bethesda has wowed gamers with editions of its The Elder Scrolls franchise with the award-winning Skyrim being the latest to come out two years ago.

The company is now busy at work on what will literally be the biggest The Elder Scrolls entry yet in The Elder Scrolls Online. Unfortunately, as shown at E3 2013, it's simply not very good.

They've got time. I'm sure it'll be fine.

It could very easily not be. It's a different team than the one that usually creates TES games, and is trying to appeal to two groups of players (MMO fans and TES fans) instead of just its usual audience. I've put hundreds of hours into Skyrim (as well as other installments in the series), and this game doesn't really interest me at all, mainly because of how much it looks like a typical, generic MMO.

Everything from the art style to the combat looks altered from what TES games usually look and feel like, at least in the videos I have seen.

I'm going to have to side with Dr Pepper (love your soda, by the way) on this one. For the brand's sake, however, I hope to be wrong.
