Gust’s upcoming PlayStation Vita RPG takes a page from Radiant Historia. Famitsu explains, players can rewind time to different spots in the game and change how events unfold.
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Despite great support from a number of developers and publishers throughout the past five years, ranging from tiny indie studios to huge AAA publishers, the Vita has still been a console full of missed potential with a number of genres and major franchises sadly missing from the handheld. While games get cancelled for every console in existence, the Vita’s lukewarm worldwide sales meant a number of projects never saw the light of day that would perhaps have been made had things turned out differently."
Bioshock would've been awesome to have on the vita. I also wish Silent Hill HD Collection would've made its way there.
The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu officially confirms that Chronos Materia, Gust’s 2013-announced PS Vita RPG, is no longer in development.
Chronos Materia was to be released on September 26, 2013, but was delayed and never received a new release date. Until now, Gust never officially cancelled the project. And even up until last earlier this month, its official website was still online.
Honestly, I didn't even remember about this game. Sad to hear about its cancellation.
Had this game on my 'watch" list...
Hmmm, I hope it gets another consideration for another [game] platform, or maybe it will get absorbed into a future project.
At least there are numerous other Rpgs coming out for the vita. Looking forward to Stranger in Sword City, Trails of Cold Steel 2, God Eater 1 & 2, and Caligula to name a few...
Today Gust sent a new batch of information, screenshots and artwork on the upcoming PS Vita Exclusive time-traveling JRPG Chronos Materia, that will be released in Japan on September the 26th.
Take part of the name from the Chrono series, take a term from a Final Fantasy game, and make use of an obscure term or terms from a more obscure, yet cult jrpg (which in this case is Valkyrie Profile, i.e. Lezard's Valkyrie homunculus) and hey presto! You've got the title and some of the first concepts for your generic jrpg!
Oh and don't forget to style your characters in an archetypal manner and with the appearance of every anime character ever.
Ah, I know I'm being hard on it. Still though, this game looks extraordinarily generic.
This better be released in the West. Well, since this is a Gust game, it's almost certain that NISA will release it. I wouldn't bet against it.
Chrono Trigger?
Sounds really interesting! Rewinding time to change events. Just hope it comes to the West also. :)
nice i would love another game like radiant historia
