"A look at the Wii U virtual console as it is today, why Nintendo is taking its time with releases, and what they could do to improve it." - Wii U Daily
TNS: Based on its most recent ESG data, Nintendo boasts a remarkably low staff turnover rate of just 1.9%, with virtually no reported layoffs.
Well it doesn’t surprise me. As much money as they make and how they value their employees. It’s a great company in that regard.
Well, when your games remain full price many years after release.
And you make profit off of outdated hardware.
I would be shocked if they couldn't afford to retain their staff.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has set a new record by selling over 3 million units within 24 hours, tripling the PlayStation 4’s previous launch day sales.
Its crazy that it's both the highest selling console on day 1 and people can walk into a store and buy it with no pre order
Unlike the Switch 2 , the Playstation 4 was not sold on the same day in most regions.
Company skipped last year's event.
Not surprising at all.
I mean, they´ll be releasing a new console in a few weeks.
Considering that an entirely new emulator is created for each individual game, I would agree with the context of the headline that it's not as a simple as a "ROM dump."
Just wish they would get to N64 and GBA games already. That's taking too long. Also where's the announcement for GCN games?
The WiiU virtual console isn't an ANYTHING dump. There's hardly anything there.
At the very least, they need to add in all of the SNES and N64 games that are currently on the Wii's Virtual Console.
Then they can work on adding all of the missing games--the titles that either were never added to the Wii VC, or were removed from the Wii VC.
It's kind of silly that a low-end PC from 10 years ago could play every single NES, SNES and N64 game ever created, but the WiiU's virtual console barely scratches a half dozen.
Well with third-party-made games they have to deal with copyrights and all that legal stuff too so it isn't that simple as people put it. On the other hand, they have no excuse for the Nintendo-owned games though. By they way, why Nintendo doesn't take a page from Microsoft and hire that guy that made the vWii for example?
We know this but when I start more Mega Man titles than Nintendo owned ip's I have to question why it's taking so long. There should me more than 1 title per week. ;)
