Now that we know the map is decently sized, hopefully there's enough interesting content to see along the way!

King_Noctis1968d ago

I doubt they can fill in alot of interesting contents into a map this big. Prepare to see lot of empty ocean water.

Axonometri1969d ago

Favorable winds? No... they don't do that.. do they? Never happens to me in the other "pirate" game.

Alexious1968d ago

Sea of Thieves was such a disappointment.

SierraGuy1968d ago

This will be even worse.

Atlas is a pirate MMO where players run the seas

There’s a pirate MMO on the horizon, and its sea-farers look ambitious. Atlas is being made by Ark: Survival Evolved devs Studio Wildcard, and sets sail on early access this week. It plops 40,000 players into the same fantasy world, where they compete to govern territory and can fire at any ship on the sea.

RPS spoke to project director/lead programmer Jeremy Stieglitz and creative director Jesse Rapczak over Skype.

Yea, definitely skeptical though since these are the same people that did Ark.

porkChop1976d ago

Oh... well that killed the hype for me.

UncertainCategory1976d ago

This from the developers of Ark? I’ll believe it when I see it.

That name might make this game DOA, it's not fun to say, hard to remember, doesn't sound interesting and can't be abbreviated.
I hope I'm wrong though because I want this to succeed.

PhantomS421976d ago

I'm not disagreeing because most MMOs are doomed to mediocrity but because Atlas can't be abbreviated? It's one word, how short do you possibly want it?

porkChop1975d ago

In Greek mythology Atlas was a titan who was condemned to holding the weight of the world on his shoulders. So how does that name not sound interesting?

And as Phantom pointed out, it's one word. It doesn't need to be shortened or abbreviated.

The name is the least of the game's inevitable issues.

gangsta_red1976d ago

It all sounds good, thats for sure

CrimsonWing691976d ago

It looked like what I wanted Sea of Thieves to be like, hopefully this isn't all smoke and mirrors

slavish01976d ago

If this ran like sot id buy day one.
