Kotaku - An awful situation may be turning around for the better. Trendy Entertainment president Jeremy Stieglitz will alter his role following Kotaku's report into the company's practices yesterday, according to two people close to the situation.
The developers of ATLAS, the new MMORPG due tomorrow on Steam Early Access, said that sailing across the entire 45 thousand square kilometers map would take 30 real hours.
Luckily there are some fast travel options and you can also let the AI crew pilot your ship.
Now that we know the map is decently sized, hopefully there's enough interesting content to see along the way!
Favorable winds? No... they don't do that.. do they? Never happens to me in the other "pirate" game.
There’s a pirate MMO on the horizon, and its sea-farers look ambitious. Atlas is being made by Ark: Survival Evolved devs Studio Wildcard, and sets sail on early access this week. It plops 40,000 players into the same fantasy world, where they compete to govern territory and can fire at any ship on the sea.
RPS spoke to project director/lead programmer Jeremy Stieglitz and creative director Jesse Rapczak over Skype.
The developers of ATLAS explained the improved server technology allowing them to create the huge MMO game with over 40K concurrent players.
They also said the game could eventually have anything you'd ever want from a survival game.
That name might make this game DOA, it's not fun to say, hard to remember, doesn't sound interesting and can't be abbreviated.
I hope I'm wrong though because I want this to succeed.
It looked like what I wanted Sea of Thieves to be like, hopefully this isn't all smoke and mirrors
