How Crysis 3′s Psycho Scan Mesh Was Too Much For Current Gen Game Engine

"As games become more and more photo-realistic, the ability to accurately model and animate faces - be they humans, beasts or otherworldly creatures - remains as strong as ever. The technologies have advanced significantly since the old days of pre-rendered CG, as developers are employing tools like Faceware to bring facial animation and the emotions that come with it into the game." (Crysis 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Whilst Crysis 3 may have not been the best game ever, after playing though on very high settings it is a gorgeous looking game and will remain a benchmark well into the next gen.
