Apparently not enough Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn news were released yesterday, today Square Enix decided to provide more in the form of a nice batch of character screenshots portraying the crafting and gathering classes that will be available in the game.

I wonder how deep the crafting system will be.

Though I hope there will be a balance of putting work into crafting equipment but at the same time not making it tedious.

I am curious as to see how this will turn out.

from the previews (including mine lol), it's pretty much as deep as it was in FFXIV, which means very deep. The process is just a bit streamlined to avoid excess boredom while crafting.

In FFxi, I never got into crafting. Despite being where the gil was at, I prefered gathering ingredients. Maybe this time around I'll give crafting more of a shot.

i like crafting in FFxi because you could +1 something or bust get nothing so it added little depth versus get X item here your epic

@Jimmywolf: that's why I prefer FFXIV's system more. FFXI's was way too random, in XIV you can still burn your items, but you have a degree of influence on how it'll come out.
