‘Dark Souls 2’ difficulty discussed, accessibility statement clarified

While speaking at Namco Bandai’s Global Gamers Day, From Software’s Yui Tanimura, director of “Dark Souls II,” discussed that when it comes to “Dark Souls 2” the term accessibility does not mean the game has been made easier. (Dark Souls 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

healing while moving sort of makes it easier. if you can heal as you're attacking/rolling then there isn't as much of a concern about strategy if you can just spam the healing.

backtracking was never a problem for me

I got kinda bored of it myself.

It was tedious yes, especially climbing the ladders in the marsh

Ziggurcat, healing has never applied any sort of strategy, getting away from your opponent for a second is not strategy, if anything, this new healing will make me use up Estus quicker. Having the ability to use it easier may end up in abusing it and paying for it.

There is no cockpit view in Grid 2. Not sure what that has to do with this article though.

Sorry, I'm on my Ipod and it accidentally pasted it.

when dark souls 2 was announced i was worried that it would become casual to appeal to a wider audience, but after watching the 12-minute gameplay footage and reading this i am at ease. I am now extremely excited for this game. I am a huge fan of the souls games.

I just bought Demon's Souls yesterday from PSN. Play the first world and died like 100 times. Does anyone knows how do you level up in this game?. I don't want to google search because that take away the fun.

Go talk to the lady without the face in the nexus (the central room where there is no enemies) when you have some souls. I believe every time you put a point into something, that counts as leveling up. She usually hangs around the very bottom floor.

I kept dying and lost all the souls that I had grind. I think I am short on souls right now, but I'll get it a try. No wonder after 7hrs of grinding I was never level up. lol.. thanks for the tips.

Let's hope fromSoftware can reinvent the meaning of a "difficult" game. I dislike luck-based difficulty where getting past a quest hinged on that one Skeleton not reappearing at that time cause the Necromancer glitched in the wall during the nth playthrough.
