Chronoblade fuses three genres: sidescroller, beat-em-up, and RPG. Taehoon Kim, CEO of nWay, told us that he got inspiration from games like Diablo, Dante's Inferno, God of War, just to name a few. So while moving about the world, it feels like an isometric sidescroller, but once you encounter enemies, it turns into a 2.5D beat-em-up. You'll use your weapons, abilities, and magic to cause as much chaos as you can while blocking and dodging will keep you safe. When you go into the menu, the RPG elements make their way into the game. Stats, skills, abilities, and more can all be min/maxed to your heart's content. It's an interesting combination that makes for a unique experience.
