The demo of The Last of Us in the God of War Ascension game has been delayed. April 17th was the old demo date, now the demo will not be available until May 30th. Two weeks before the game comes out.
(PS3, The Last Of Us)
That would be like waking up tomorrow thinking it is Christmas. Too good to be true. I think they should have made it readily playable, as it would make God Of War sell so much more, and gamers would be freaking ecstatic.
Then again, the reviewers would be too distracted lol.
I havent been following this but... I really thought the demo was on the same disc. That once you bought the god of war game it came with a voucher to unlock the demo from the disc and install to the hdd.
God of War is a day 1 purchase for me, with or without that demo. I'll be holding off too. I've been waiting this long for TLOU, I can live with another two weeks lol.
Yeah going to skip the demo too... -It's like what's the point in playing a demo so close to the final game, might as well just wait for the full game and play the whole thing...
-Just seems dumb to do a demo so close to release-

There is no need to be sad, I can lend you some of my X360 games to hold you over in the meantime. You can pick as many as you like from the picture below. Remember, I am here for you. You want a tissue as well?
Who really cares that much? So many damn games have came out recently and there's still God of War and Bioshock for me. I have purchased Dead Space 3, Metal Gear Rising, Crysis 3 so I'm not worried much by this, I have a lot to play still.
With the demo being delayed, and the fact that nobody has gotten to play it is starting to make me re-evaluate my hasty assumptions that this game is somehow the holy grail of ps3 exclusives. Seriously, I'm really wondering if this game is even ready to release, or if it really can even match the immense hype put upon it (gameplay-wise, of course we know ND always has tight stories and characters though). But not being able to play it 1st? I'll have to wait a week or so after it comes out b4 I feel comfy buying it.
But i'm sure people will disagree simply because i'm being cautious instead of jumping onto the hype train. Lately, I don't buy anything on day 1. Too many disapointments lately (Sims City, Diablo 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, etc).
If I wait a few days, I can get a better idea as to whether the game is right for me, especially now that we can't play a demo to get a taste before-hand.
This is bogus. I wouldn't mind because I totally would have prob played the Demo 18 times over before I even started GoW but the wait is ridiculously long.
Wow i thought the demo comes with the purchase of the new god of war? Im still buying god of war but this kinda sux, i was wanting to try out the demo.
That was actually one of the selling points of me getting GOW Ascension on release day. I'm sure the game is great regardless, but I might just nix my preorder and pick up Tomb Raider instead now.. by May, GOW will be a $40 title.. plus, The Last Of Us comes out 3 weeks later.
I guess i will pick GOW a week before or the same day Tlou comes out, this way i most likely will get Gow cheaper and until then i will have Bioshock Infinite and other backlog games to play. Also need to start picking games at discount to put some money for the new consoles aside.New Consoles in the horizon means games will come down in price a lot faster this days,no need first day picking or pre order;its just a waste of money doing it this days.
I have to say this is incredibly annoying. I'm all for delaying games that are far off release to improve the quality, but this is supposed to be a demo. Just let us play what everyone else has been able to play. It clearly looks "done enough" for a demo.
Plus they have two different demos released now. The E3 demo, and the one that was released just recently.
There's our demo(s).
I'll just pass on the demo and play it when it releases. I was hoping the demo would release with GoW since I'll be working steady until November. But oh well.
This is clearly a marketing strategy. Release the demo in March, by the time the game comes out in June, the demo will be an after-thought. Our short attention spans will have moved on to something else by then and the demo 's effectiveness will have worn off. Release the demo 2 or 3 weeks before the game's release and it'll still be fresh on our minds and will inspire us to go buy the full game. It's all about the $$$$!
Makes me wonder do I want to download the demo or not. 2 weeks is too short time. I'm really looking forward to this game and I have pre orderd it so I want the full experience at once. They really should've keep the original date!
Take your time Naughty Dog. I want to be blown away.
Since the game's announcement, I've only ever seen the reveal trailer. I've avoided everything else that has to do with this game. I want to be truly surprised by this. I haven't even looked at screenshots since the announcement.
It's going to be like the old days where you just pick up a game and play it without any prior knowledge of the game.... where the only thing you know about the game is what is on the cover.

Demo or not...I'm still getting both games.
Really?

first i wasnt going to play the demo cos the game was out on my birthday.
then i was going to play it because the game got delayed and made it a longer wait.
now im not going to play it again because the game is out two weeks later.
OT: It's a shame the demo has been delayed again, but i guess there's still a tone of games till then.
I couldnt play it either because i dont hav the $ for gow lol

Then when it was april 17 l was gonna get it around then. Now gowa is a buy in may which should be no more than 40 bucks
glad to see there are more real gamers here! who can see quality ..
But now we have seen enough and it's from ND so a demo isn't gonna make or break my decision
Don't Demo's usually come out a few weeks before a release anyway?
