Swedish developer SimBin, best known for the GTR games, has released a new free-to-play game titled RaceRoom Racing Experience.
Pegged as being “more than a game”, the RaceRoom experience is spread across three destinations – a game, a content store, and a motorsports portal.
The creators of some critically acclaimed racing games, SimBin, has announced Women and Wheels- the first women-only Esports car racing competition. The October update will add the WTCC 2013 pack to the title, including five different Super200 WTCC racing cars from BMW, Honda, Lada, Seat & Chevrolet.
Furthermore, the new update will also add the title’s first pass at time of day selection as players will be able to choose from different time of day presets. The new version will also add the possibility to “test drive” additional content before it needs to be bought on the R3E content store.
Also, the new update will introduce a feature that will automatically set realistic wheel range & steering lock values for all cars, players are of course free to tweak the settings to their individual liking as well.
Simbin has for a long time been a fixture of the sim racing community as the makers of some of the most recognizable racing titles ever made. GTR, GTR2, GT Legends, Race 07 and Raceroom are just some of those games. Recently Simbin has been in the news with rumors of bankruptcy, closing up shop or some form of restructuring. With that going on Shaun Cole of The Simpit was able to sit down via Skype with Jay Ekkel, the licencing manager for Simbin. They talk about the company, its past, its future and a little bit of general sim racing talk.

Its not really free to play. You get a handful of cars and a few tracks to drive on. The other cars and tracks have to be bought.
