An interview with Jenova Chen: How Journey’s creator went bankrupt and won game of the year
After an emotional Journey, Jenova Chen gets his catharsis with Game of the Year at the game industry's Oscars. He talks about his journey with GamesBeat's Dean Takahashi

*GamesBeat: Do you feel reasonably secure now, financially? You’ve got money to do what you need to do?
Chen: For now, yes. But can see a storm on the future horizon for me. [laughs] With the money we have, our ambitions for our game and the scope of the team start to grow. It’s starting to get worrisome.*
With the cost of games in the multiple millions, unless you have resources and funds to offset losses, one poor selling game that eats up your budget for the year means bankruptcy. So many developers went bankrupt this generation because of this.
Wow,this shows the crazy flow of making games,one wrought with difficult journeys but the silver lining of it all is,passionate people with creativity can flower on this killzone we call stagnation of Ideas in the game industry,the uncharted water shall be tested against creative thieves who pretend to wear halos but their links to the past are clouded by the haze of success,I wish nothing but the best for the game company.
