Maybe It’s Time To Admit Final Fantasy Can’t Be Saved

I'm as hyped for Versus as anyone else and I do think under Nomura's direction it will give us a sense of what the series used to be but after that it's unclear what the future holds for Final Fantasy.

Was Final Fantasy 13 really that bad? It got fairly good reviews and looked good from what I saw of it. Not to the level of the old games but still good.

Well I enjoyed it, especially when you landed on Pulse. The battle system is enjoyable once you get used to it and the visuals/audio are great.

Is it one of the great FF's? No, but it's a good game.

i enjoyed it too have more then 100 hours in it.
the story was okay gameplay was good it was only to linear until you would reach pulse.
but that was okay for me i needed that time to get to know the battle system anyway.

No and it has a lot in common with ffx. People just hate Because it's the cool thing to do, most people who hate the 13s have either never even played the game for haven't played more than 5 minutes. Most veteran ff fans (people who played before the release of 7) enjoyed it. It may not be the best ff but it does hold the ff quality like all the games do. Haters are the minority but they have a loud annoying voice. I didn't enjoy 7 or 12 but I'll at least admit the gameplay in them was to ff standards which made them good.

how come you didn't enjoy final fantasy 7 the story was really good like based on real life story of a soldier no ex-soldier who has lost every thing even the woman he loved and yet fighting to save the world.Then there is another person who's aim was to be great and protect is country no company but soon realized that he was betrayed and was a lab rat for them.
this kind of a story is inspiring and make us all know to be cautious though now days i just play metal gear games since its more inspiring.

well i am not saying all final fantasy series should be like this but to not like it that's shocking.

It was a pretty game that played itself. Almost a movie with some interactive elements - a dull movie btw, w/ a terrible cast of characters.

So even though it was a great game from a technical standpoint, yes it was really that bad.

It just needs to take a break for a while after Lightning Returns, IMO. Square could sit back and think of a story that deserves being told through a game - working on some new IPs too - before coming back refreshed. At the moment, they're trying to force out stories and characters for the sake of making a Final Fantasy game, and it's hurting the brand.

If Sakaguchi ever decides to go back to Square to make games then that´s the day my worries about the franchise go to zero.

Nomura makes great games but Sakaguchi´s influence is always very important to make it even better.

Well in my view the day I say final fantasy cant be redeemed is when square enix goes under not that im hoping that but the fans of the final fantasy franchise is a loyal fanbase sure square enix is losing them with sloppy choices but they need to buck up and try to regain the respect square once had in terms of industry and from their fans or else they will have trouble surviving they are lucky to have other good dev teams that release quality stuff on top of all this where is my damn localization for final fantasy type-0?! Am I the only one still hoping and counting that to happen? Im not even gonna start with a certain final fantasy game announced... *thinking*.... Like 6 years ago???

Square-Enix should divert their attention away from the Final Fantasy franchise and focus on potential franchises like The World Ends With You. They should only go back to Final Fantasy when they have a clear direction for the franchise.

With few words the author tell us to stop loose our time with FF because SE have turn the series to shit after Sagakuchi left, & I cant agree more with that, FF die when Sagakuchi left so it's time to search somewhere else to get our JRPG fix, Level-5 & Ni No Kuni seems the perfect place for me.

I enjoyed all FF games except 11 never played it.I have my favorites & FF7 isn't one of them but I enjoyed playing it.FF-XIII is one of my favorites...yes it's not traditional FF but I UNDERSTAND that the developers went a different direction because of the STORY & I love the fast turned based battle system.I do UNDERSTAND that it's not the 90's anymore & alot of the original FF team have moved on from Square but I really like the FF franchise so I'm always willing to buy & support their games,that's because I'm a fan!
