Remember the PS1 title “Blasto” from way back in 1998? Don’t worry, nobody else does either. Sadly, Insidious Gamer DOES remember and decided to give it a look…the game wasn't good then and time hasn't been kind to it…Enjoy!?
(Heads up: For some reason the PS3 just couldn't seem to output this game’s audio in Stereo, so it only plays in Mono…through one ear…not sure why. There is also some “audio drift” that causes the audio to be out of sync by the end of the video… we will chalk up all technical issues to Blasto being a terrible game.)
Eskimo Press: "Remember Blasto? The space hunk super-hero whose sole purpose in life is to "save babes"? Well, it looks like a next-gen sequel for this frantically fun shooter might be revealed. Sony's interest in SpaceX is making a heck of a lot of sense now, wouldn't you say?"
I would like it but I mainly liked the old game because of Phil Hartman, the voice acting alone AT THE TIME was worth playing through it despite being difficult (frustrating difficult).
Since he's gone I don't know who could replace him
I would prefer Ape Escape or Legend of the Dragoon (a J-RPG on PS4 from Sony would be excellent!) over this but hey, that would be great for those who loved Blasto.
Only thing that comes to mind from Blasto is Blasto the Hanar Spectre! Haven't even heard of this franchise, but I probably now get the reference :D
DefaultPrime writer Mike Patuleia takes a stroll down memory lane, looking at some PlayStation titles gone to the wayside that Sony should take a second look at bringing back into the fold with the advent of the PlayStation 4.
I'd like to see a Legend of Dragoon which features some flying, as well as some other things, but that's just me.
Heavenly Sword is always a given when these lists pop up.
I'd like to see a new Lair. That game could've been better than Drakengaurd (did is spell that right?), had it not been for the poor execution. But i know Sony wouldn't allow it.
Game was an unpolished gem. We'll prolly never see another game like it.... what a shame.
I would of prefered if Nariko would of somehow returned for the sequel, but you make a great point and I too would love to see a new protagonist.
Sony’s answer to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. pits some of the most popular PlayStation heroes and villains against each other. Recognizable characters like God of War’s Kratos, Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, and Twisted Metal’s Sweet Tooth have been confirmed as playable fighters, but the final roster is yet to be determined by the game’s developers.
Sadly, it’s unlikely that All-Stars Battle Royale will feature every Sony first-party series — the publisher just has too many franchises for this to be a reasonable expectation. Let’s take a look at some Sony properties that probably won’t make it into the game due to poor sales, overall weirdness, or horrible design.
Straight up Mario Kart clone with Mod Nation Racer, and now this. Wii motes turned to Sony Move controllers, and Achievements turn to trophies.
It's been a great generation for consoles!
