Injustice: Gods Among Us offers a 'deep, elaborate' story and a twist on Superman!?

Injustice: Gods Among Us turned a lot of heads when it was first revealed a few weeks ago. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the creators of Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us looks to offer that similar gritty, darker experience. While we've experienced this darker tone in the Mortal Kombat franchise, it's something we're not used to seeing with DC super heroes.

"While we've experienced this darker tone in the Mortal Kombat franchise, it's something we're not used to seeing with DC super heroes."

Actually if you are reading current DC comics or issues from their most recent years , that's all they have been about ... full retarded grey scales and darker tones that only fit batmans and its family titles .

Most of their event have been about those heroes being obtus , bickering and making poor decisions , in an (saleswise successful) attempt to duplicate Marvel's "realistic" approach . While Marvel is currently trying to go lighter and more "heroic" .

Personally i dont get it , when i want something darker and grittier than superman , i dont go around expecting a darker story , i just read something else .

Both DC's and Marvel's approach were good , no need for them to clone each other so much .

Recent? This has been going on with DC for the last 20 years. I'd hardly call it recent.

It's been increasingly darker and crazy since Identity Crisis , when heroes started killing villains just because and brainwashing them , along with whoever disagreed like Batman .

It calmed down a bit , then got even worse with Countdown to Crisis and Infinite Crisis .

Hell Superboy Prime , once a classic and beloved char , was pretty much a mortal kombat character , riping heads offs left and right

I wonder if it's Frank Miller's Superman, which is Superboy Prime level of whining...
