Assassin's Creed 10? 'I hope so,' says Ubisoft's Detoc

Yeah there most certainly is... If the story has reached a good stopping point, it should stay there. No need to tirelessly drag it through the mud.

If you must continue to make the games, at least start a new story with new characters

That is what all these historical AC games should lead up too.

By the end of AC2 I was expecting the next to be modern, but I was deeply mistaken. I now understand now that the history and amount of stories to be told is vast.

The Modern day AC should be the finale.

Gameplay would be drastically different in a modern world. Can't exactly hop around on rooftops and melee people. Outside of the story, I don't see a game set in modern-day fitting in with the rest of the franchise.

If anything, it would be something like what WatchDogs is trying to be.

The modern day AC doesn't necessarily have to be all guns. I could see them doing something similar to Mirror's edge, which got away without having the main character tirelessly use guns.

I agree. I'm very happy at AC3 right now. They look to have done a great job evolving it at just the right time.

Now comes the problem. Expect next year to be a rehash of AC3. This may b OK if its really good. But then, another rehash while they work on 4?

Well, I guess its still better than a lot of games. And now that I think of it, they will only b allowed 1 rehash before next Gen. I guess I can't get too mad. Ubiaoft is making money and working on games like watch dogs.

What is wrong with milking if it's a good cow? I think Assassins Creed gets better and better not worse like cod. If Ubi keeps raising the bar then I say milk away!
Besides there is no Assassins Creed clones so without this franchise this type of game is basically dead and I don't want it to die.

I can look at AC3 and not think "oh they just want to just make a quick buck" They are taking chances putting it in a an unfamiliar environment with dear hunting, Hanging people from trees etc & game is looking nice!

If anything is milked it's FF13 part2. 13!! part 2!!

Each number has its stories and characters.

1, 2 and 3 are all focused on different characters (in the past).

The reason why we never got a AC3 sooner was because the story of Ezio was never finished.

And if you are up to date with the list of assassins around the world within its history, then the there can be many more stories to come.

I don't mind having the characters stories broken up into separate games. I actually like it. I mean, yea, Ubisoft is milking Assassin's Creed. We all know it, but the fact that each game has gotten better than the last and introduced new things, maybe not the best things (looking at you tower defense) it's still a game that I look forward to playing every year.

And like the people said above, the story won't end until we reach Desmond and his time, because the Dr guy is a templar. So I think it's safe to assume that were going to see a lot more major events. Hopefully the civil war is one of them. That'd be pretty cool.

Where can the game go the past is great civil war America sounds like a great story. And I think a 21 century would be great. But futuristic story of AC I won't play if it has robots and laser guns.

We're half way there, and III easily looks like the best in the series.

10 games does sound bad, but really, it all comes down to how it's handled.

For example, GTA. We had five games on PS2, and one on current gen systems, with two major expansions. That's comparable to eight games and the ninth is one of, if not the most anticipated game of this generation. And the tenth game, whenever that arrives on next-gen will surely be highly anticipated as well.

Ten games can work. It just needs to be done in a way that keeps things fresh.

If you think of it that way, there's already 7 Assassin's Creed games, 9 including III and Liberations.

There will be a bunch more Assassin's Creed games in my opinion. With the universe in AC they could keep moving around in history giving us brand new environments, settings, characters and stories to keep us satiated for a long, long time.

And then 10 years from now when people finally get sick of it, BAM! Ubisoft releases "AC: Future Assassin's" and we all fall in love again while we explore strange planets and stab crazy aliens in the neck

If they're just gonna keep advancing, there won't be enough "major events" to get them to 10 between the American revolution and modern day.

i want an assassins creed game set in like edo japan oh or set during the three kingdoms era in china, lol battle of chi bi it was actually an assassins who made cao cao retreat ;-) or a game set in like the maya civilization they could somehow link the calander to mean that on December 2012 the assassin and templar war becomes public, or during the aztec period or the roman empire, the campaign can span across the conquest of Europe as the assassin tries to assassinate the roman leaders to prevent the templar expantion, game could end with the roman vs scots where the roman where unable to concur scotland, i have loads of ideas for this game :/

Considering that assassins creed 3 will mark the end of Desmonds arc i expect they will reboot the franchise in the next generation with a new protagonist. There might be Brotherhood like "DLC" with the Connor depending on how well he is received.

There are so many interesting time periods to explore and as long as gameplay improves and the stories are well told i don't see why it can't continue. They have said that as in the game they talk about the end of 2012 being a pivotal moment they did rush it. Revelations was originally not going to be a console version but was made so and although served the Ezio and Altair story well did little gameplay or Desmond story wise.

There will be a larger break after 3 til the next numbered game. I can't wait to see where we go whether it be the French Revolution, Japan, China, the Ancient world, Victorian England etc.. These games thrive in the use of history and as long as they don't overdo the Templars vs Assassins arc (which will always be present to some degree) they have a winner. Imagine playing as a disillusioned Assassin who actively turns against his own order. Imagine them playing as a Russian spy in the Cold war. I hope they explore areas of history that are not the most obvious.

I really like the AC games ever since the first one. I just really hope that the controls are more responsive especually during combat. There's always this lag between combos. That's my biggest issue with that game. Make the game more fluid, and I'll keep buying. I like that series.

I mean, 5 games is a good run, but the gameplay gets old after a while. Maybe the change in scenery will do some good in 3, but who knows? The gameplay looked awesome, so for me, it's a must-buy but if it gets old, then I won't be sticking with them for assassin's creed: x.

AC series game play is so boring and repetitive. Playing through both AC and AC2 was more painful than it was enjoyable.
