Triverse writes, "Originally planned to be Shining Force Online, Shining Empire has survived a cease and desist from Sega (some fan games are okay, others are a huge no-no). Arcade County, based in Texas, are moving forward with their game, slightly changed of course, which will hit Steam and Windows later this year (hopefully). Right now though, Shining Empire is on Kickstarter where fans can throw support behind the project and have a direct hand in making it happen."
Arcade County, developers of "Shining Force Online", reached their Kickstarter goal for "Shining Empire" in less than 48 hours. Lead developer R. Mulvany is hoping the success continues so that he can finish the true vision for the game he designed 25 years ago.
Carl Williams writes, "Arcade County, developer behind the, soon to be repeatedly, failing online strategy title, Shining Empire, is somewhat upset over poor response from fans using Kickstarter’s platform. One reason for these adverse feelings is that getting word out about the game is tough and it is causing failure at getting funded."
