Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes vs Metal Gear Solid 4 Comparison – A Generational Leap

Worlds Factory:
"With Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes coming in less than two weeks, we thought it would be appropriate to compare available screens from next-gen version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes with Metal Gear Solid 4 screens, and to see how big is the generational gap."

The colorless gen is finally over lol

Irishguy953701d ago

Haha, yeah I think Halo and Uncharted are the only 2 big games that kept colour in their palette

Yui_Suzumiya3701d ago

Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us?

yezz3701d ago

GTA V, Far cry 3, Minecraft... But it's true that there were loads of washed-out games last gen.

Razmossis3701d ago

MGS4's sound is so underrated (scratch the... so, not talked about), yet it is hands down the best sounding game of the generation. People need to give over about graphics for a day or two. Start noticing sound instead.

elhebbo163701d ago

I think he means at the beginning of the 7 gen guys

Alexious3701d ago

Kinda true, there were many washed-out palettes, mainly in the early part of the generation though.

micx3701d ago

Though I never had problems with "colorless" games. First that comes to mind is Killzone 2, and I really enjoyed its enviroments.
So much, I complained Shadow Fall is just too colorful. :)

But seeing more colors can't be a bad thing either.

Majin-vegeta3701d ago

Well to be fair KZ2 was during a major war. It;s not like there's gonna be rainbows and magical unicorns during the game. The setting actually drew me in it was gritty time for the ISA.

RevXM3701d ago

Agree with vegeta.
While colours were "absent" through most the levels they all came alive through attention to detail and nuances. it seemed alive or real and it all drew me in.

MGS4 had color. It is that off white kind of yellow/gray. Every mgs has a color that pops out. MGS1(blue), MGS2(green blue), MGS3 (mostly green with some yellow)

dillhole3701d ago

I blame Gears Of War for that.

I still think MGS 4 was one of the best looking games of last gen. I'm expecting MGS V will make that mark to with Phantom Pain. But on the color side MGS 4 really is very greyish as MGS V is extremely vibrant and full of beautiful colors.

Salooh3701d ago

I consider it as big as the last of us in last gen. But it looks good for this gen. It would have been better if they focused on this gen.

Alexious3701d ago

Nah...The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls are the best looking games of last gen.

MGSIV isn't even close.

elhebbo163701d ago

maybe color wise but the animations and textures on the characters where solid in my opinion.

PS4FEVER3701d ago

NOT really, these screenshots are bullshots. Mgs4 looked better than those. Different levels of mgs4 had its own colors. It wasnt all grey, but then again its war time, kojima chose the colors for a reason. My only issue with mgs4 was that it was broken into chapters, unlike mgs3. Mgs3 is still the game to beat.

Festano3701d ago

The differences are obvious, I think I get it.

FantasyStar3701d ago

I would've been more interested in a last-gen comparison. I already know the PS4/XB1 would look nicer. It would've been more interesting to see a PS3 comparison of MGS4 and MGS5.

MorbidPorpoise3701d ago

Gotta love those nextgen weeds lol.

micx3701d ago

Weed and lots of colors on next-gen :O

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro49d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7249d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_49d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga49d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos49d ago (Edited 49d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt2349d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200049d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin49d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole49d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix49d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198949d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor49d ago (Edited 49d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Michiel198949d ago

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

Kingdom hearts was really sad at the end. The darkness when Jenny dies was shocking and sad

Mine have to be last of us, Joel's daughter. Maybe it hits different when you have kids vs bot. I'll throw ff7 up there to. On the verge of looking like some sort of love triangle then bam, death

I think Dom's wife's death in Gears 2 was sadder then Dom. Dom's death in Gears 3 just felt rushed.
