Last week Image & Form announced they would bring the hugely popular 3DS eShop title, SteamWorld Dig, to the PS4 and Vita. We were able to ask Brjann Sigurgeirsson, CEO of Image & Form, about the possibility of a Wii U version of SteamWorld Dig.
From IGN: "Thunderful Games has four separate SteamWorld games in development with three expected to launch next year.
The company revealed during its latest financial results that SteamWorld Headhunter - a third person action adventure that was revealed in November - is just one of four different genres the SteamWorld franchise is exploring. It is expected to launch in 2023, along with two others.
Those two, codenamed 'Strawberry' and 'Coffee', will be followed in 2024 by 'Caramel'. Are all listed as "SteamWorld IP" games, with Strawberry and Coffee actually listed before Headhunter in Thunderful's development timeline."
Coolest news in a while ! Steamworld games are always the best! Steamwrold Dig,Dig 2, Steamworld Quest and Steamworld Heist are all fabulous games !!
SteamWorld Dig is an incredible game that changed the way metroidvanias could work. Check out Jason Capp's Nindie Spotlight on why this is such an important game in the indie world.
Omar writes: "If you're looking to play some games on your hybrid console but you're on a budget you can still get some cheap and awesome Switch indie titles."
Sayonara Wild Hearts is such a great fun little experience and I cannot recommend it enough
Hope that changes soon; I'd love to play it on the big screen, so I'd gladly double-dip if they brought it to the Wii U sooner rather than later.
kinda ironic they would ignore the Nintendo home console over another company platform when they first made this for 3DS. tsk tsk Wii U.
And that is the Attitude Nintendo needs to change "Sadly, I don’t think SteamWorld Dig is the game that will make them rush to the stores and buy the hardware". Let's hope the next few months will change that.
It's funny they deny the fans who own a Wii U although they go on record f saying the 3ds sold more copies. I think in the industry you see a lot of people chasing hype. X system moved 40 thousand units lets make games for that system we think it will sell. That's why I have no love for those in the industry that fail and have to close there studios why not support all equally.
