The Medieval Unmagic of Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Gamespot :

"Dungeons, but no dragons. Mazes, but no magic. Kingdom Come: Deliverance may remind you of open-world fantasy games of the Elder Scrolls variety, but this medieval adventure is not about wizened wizards, ancient curses, or sinister necromancy.

Creative Director Dan Vávra from Warhorse Studios suggests that I think about Kingdom Come as "Braveheart the game, which means majestic castles, armored knights, large open fields, and political intrigue, set in a vast emergent world." It was clear early in the demo Vávra recently led me through that any ideas I had about arcane spellcasting and howling ghouls should give way to thoughts of a real landscape from the Holy Roman Empire."

I feel as though this is going to be an amazing version of Mount & Blade (Not they are trying to rip it off or anything like that).

Very excited that it has that feel to it, and that it is not all magical dragons and whatnot.

Ya reading though their blog you can see they are trying some very impressive stuff. They are taking the best part of every game as they said "We’re mixing the freedom and mechanics of Skyrim, the setting of Mount and Blade, the storytelling styles of The Witcher and Red Dead Redemption, and the tough combat dynamics of Dark Souls into a single, gorgeous package". I've been waiting for a game like this for years and im happy to see they are half way to the goal already.

I could not agree with you more, @wsoutlaw87

We need more games like this.

Good! Theres a good chance there'll be a new elder scrolls in the near future so theres no point ripping it off. Bring out your own unique game. This will get my attention!

I have honestly been waiting since the days of Stronghold for a game like this.

I already own the physical copy on PS4, and even bought it on Steam for my Steamdeck... but I went ahead and bought this as well. Because, why not?

Aussiesummer5d ago

If you just like wasting money sure.

Spenok5d ago

It's not wasting money, it's me supporting the developer, in hopes it helps them in the long run to continue making amazing games.

This one was certainly not a needed purchase. As for the Steam copy, I wanted to be able to take the game on the go, and it was on a good deal besides.
