User Fix For Xbox One Game Installs Stuck At 0%

Granted with a new console release there are bound to be some problems and one minor issue is that of installing your game. Some people are reporting that when they insert the disc into the drive, the system begins installing the game, but stays at 0%.

Yeah, the problem is that downloading updates is an automatic and hidden part of the installation process - and XBL is getting an absolute pounding since the UK has got back from work and the US has woken up - it's gonne get worse before it gets better.

Hang in there. I'd suggest installing all the smaller apps and stuff first! Spent a couple hours just playing with Kinect.

i guess it would be a two step process. the first step is to update the system with the day one patch. you do that either directly via the system online or from a USB drive.

the next step is the actual install of the game. doing that in offline mode will take less time as it bypasses the auto check for any updates. Now you could just play the game as it is but if you reconnect online and play the game it will auto check for any updates and install them.

Okay that last part would technically be step 3 (updating the game after install).

edit: @below, yeah that would be ideal. Let the game install first and then update as opposed to trying to do simultaneous install/update.

But in the sense of people wanting to play while it installs then it would be like any other game. you cant play it until it has been updated to the latest version. Hence the long drawn out process.

The updates for the games should be in the background after the game is finished installing.

He got banned for updating his console via USB updated that MS provided damn.. hope they fix this issue soon http://www.youtube.com/watc...

so in his case he used the wrong update file. Im sure if he does the update again with the right file it would work.

But the question is, would the system even detect a difference between the two update files...?

To say I'm annoyed is an understatement right now, can't play anything on my x1 ATM, all I wanted to do was get in from work, put battlefield 4 on and chill, but no! Stuck at 0%! 😡 iv got a £430 paper weight.... Brilliant
