Kotaku - I'd never played a Grand Theft Auto before. I mean, I understood the draw, but ever since I'd played Mafia, I felt no beckon to follow The Sopranos through an open-world Manhattan de-make. Wise guy this, blip-blap that. The whole rigamarole sounded like a chore, really. On top of that, my new girrrrrrrrlfriend and I clearly had better things to do.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
As we have all been graced by the release of Grand Theft Auto 6's trailer, we're ranking the best and worst GTA trailers to date.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is an important game for Rockstar, not least because it was the first title in the franchise to use the newly created RAGE engine.
Niko to me is the most boring GTA protagonist I ever played with. Even Claude who doesn't talk felt more exciting to play.
I found myself going back to GTA 3 more times than I did GTA 4.
Graphically, GTA4 felt like a push forward. Sadly however coming from GTA:SA which had tons of features, GTA 4 felt like step back.
Imo niko was the more realized of any character up till 4, but unfortunately his story was of a grim nature so i didn't find it as fun. From the sound of it the newer characters are well realized and fun, i can't wait.
Imma change my life cousin.

For me Nico wasn't the problem it was the story, I don't know exactly what it was but it was the first GTA that I found to be a ball ache to finnish, by the time the second island had opened I really couldn't be bothered carrying on but I did just because it was GTA. If it was any other game I wouldn't have bothered.
