Stevivor's Leo Stevenson writes, "I’ve never been one for MMOs. I’ve never really been one for online multiplayer in general, so the thought of playing with hundreds – or thousands – of other players seemed like anathema. The one time I played World of Warcraft – because a 30 day free account came with my graphics card – I quit after 15 minutes. The Elder Scrolls Online already has 15 minutes on WoW, before it’s even launched. Here’s why The Elder Scrolls Online may make me rethink my opinion of MMOs."

Like the author, I too have never given an MMORPG much though. Never even played one outside of a drunken try in EverQuest at a friends house.

I will say this though, I am looking forward to losing my job, and straining my relationships over this game.

Don't waste your time and money with this subscription based game.

That's a load of crap. Subscriptions MMOs are the best ones. The top three MMOs of all time were all subs based. There a ton of free to plays out there and most of thwm are grind based trash or have the best content locked behind the pay wall.

I agree with Bolts. MMOs might not be everyones particular cup of tea, but if you're going to try one the best are subscription based by a long shot.

I lost 4 years to Ultima online once... Haven't touched any since, damn am I tempted by Elder Scrolls though.

You're both living in the past and completely clueless to the current mmo market. Its more profitable for a game to be F2P now. Blizzard has even been reported to looking at ways to make wow free to play. Project titan is going to be f2p as well.

Rift went F2P and is a vastly superior mmo experience because of it. Just because a developer charges a fee does not make it a better game.
