Next gen is coming – How to clear your current gen backlog

James O'Connor of MMGN: As the PS4 and Xbox One edge ever closer to release, I’m seeing more and more concern from people about their enormous gaming backlogs. With this in mind, I need a plan for how to deal with my backlog.

Lol just dont sell it ! Keep it , for memories haha

AznGaara3930d ago

I sold all my console games that aren't first party or console exclusives and used that money to rebuy them on the steam sale, even got some money left over. :)

TheFirstClassic3930d ago

I don't plan on getting a ps4 till black friday 2014... probably. Not even close to being done with this gen, or some of the previous gens tbh.

Darth Gamer3930d ago

There is no helping me. LOL. Between my PS3, VITA and XBOX 360 as well as Steam, I must have close to 30 games not yet even touched and I already have a PS4 and XBOX ONE paid for. I am not buying any other games except Dragons Crown until november. I actually still have PS2 and Original Xbox games to play. LOL

theDECAY3930d ago

That's the real problem. Most adults, including me, just don't have enough time to play all those games. That is why I don't have all the consoles. I barely have enough time to play all the PS3 games I want to.

Darth Gamer3929d ago

Exactly! I have found that as I have gotten older, ( I just turned 40) I have less time to do the things in life that I used to love to do, be it gaming, artwork, even reading a good book. Between my career, my four children (8 and under including a toddler) and wife, my free time has dwindled even though my obsession for purchasing games has not. I find myself not getting rid of any of them in the hopes that my children somewhere down the road wind up playing some of them. Plus, with the money that you get back for a trade in to me is not worth parting with the game.

Im only 21 and i barely find time to game anymore ( although its mostly my fault because i have been going out a lot lately) and not to mention my backlog consists of ps3 games steam, vita, 3ds, wii u... it never ends!

@ darth... I probably buy more games than i play but they will always be there even if i dont get to it right away.. I learned my lesson after trading in all my n64 ps1 ps2 games long ago... major regrets

MAULxx3930d ago

Yeah, I have a pretty sizable backlog too. I just started from the beginning in Skyrim Legendary Edition, that's not helping the backlog at all but I'm having fun. Maybe I can dip into something while playing Skyrim. IDK, we'll see.

This game deserves a remaster for current consoles. It was awesome on PS3.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

Every game in the last 2 decades...

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit1d 4h ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife1d 2h ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!
