The studios that skipped E3 and what they are working on now

There were plenty of developers who didn't put in an appearance at the show. Some, such as Valve and Rockstar, are perennially absent from the Los Angeles Convention Center, but others were more unexpected. But what are the missing developers currently working on?

Criterion working in a not racing project, finally a Black sequel?

mgszelda13947d ago

Imagine that on next gen tech

Valve say something about hl3! Its fucked up how they left us hanging on not getting the episodic content on a regualr like they said they was.. the least they can do is say something aboug the damn game..

mgszelda13947d ago

Who gives a crap about Valve not being there. I like Half-life and all but probably one of the most overrated developers out there. I mean I saw a list of Top 10 or 20 something developers of all time and they were on it. All time, come on

PulpoTonto3947d ago

Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead 1/2, Portal 1/2, Team Fortress, Counterstrike, Dota 2.

They don't work fast but that's a pretty solid track record if ever I saw one. Also Steam is apparently something...

mgszelda13947d ago

Honestly I find the story in HL good but very ambiguous to the point I feel they wrote themselves into a corner. L4D both r fun but will not stand the test of time. Portal 1 was decent and 2 I did not play. I find portal is an amazing concept wasted on just doing puzzles mostly. The rest also fun but we will not be talking about them much in the future. PC only gamers will probably always speak of counterstrike though.

When I think all time I think Capcom, Konami, or Nintendo. Granted as of late some companies especially Capcom have fallen from legendary status. But no one will ever forget things such as Megaman, Castlevania, or Mario.

IMO Nintendo is the best developer of all time. Look at all the genres they have made or even perfected others

Bimkoblerutso3947d ago

Even if you don't personally care for them, it would be hard for you to argue that Half-Life, Portal and Counterstrike have not been massively important and influential to their respective genres...like, on the same level that Mario and Megaman were to platformers or Zelda was to adventure games.

Valve absolutely takes a greasy dump all over naughty dog, Kojima, quantic dream, or any other console developer that all the tools on here suck up to, you can take that to the bank

steam is only about 5000 million times better than psn and xboxlive and mii verse combined

valve pioneered everything you have in video games today

there is not another developer even close to them

the next closest would be blizzard, then cd project, but they are way down the list

naughty dog isn't even in a top 20 list

the make soap operas for men

mgszelda13947d ago

Please I don't care about steam great service and all but I'm talking strictly games. All this emphasize on stuff like what they did to modern this and that. I'll give u the gravity gun as far as being unique but name me specifically what any of their games did that no other game did before it, that will be cemented through the annals of gaming history.

a sequel to Black would be awesome!!!!

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.
